LINKS to Aussie heated hose - to prevent rainout

Post by rested gal » Sat Oct 22, 2005 11:39 pm

Many have found keeping the hose warm to be the best solution to prevent "rain out" - condensation dripping on the face or gurgling inside a main air hose, due to heated humidifier air cooling off during the trip through the cold plastic air hose.

It's not a cover...it's a hose with a wire run in it.

The picture is old. I received mine yesterday and it's a nice beige color. I guess they ran out of maroon cover material!

Thank you for the link to the Zoo med reptile heater. This has possibilities.

Again thank you rested gal!!

viewtopic/t5305/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=337 ... lt#p286356 Here is that link. I ordered the 15 Watt one. I think that one will be safe but I will keep watch on it for sure. The one that melted the hose was 80 Watt.

I have 15Watt reptile heater it for the last year and half,it works great. The only caution is that to not leave it on in the morning with your cpap off and the hose under your bed covers. I put mine on a timer so that it shuts off after 8 hours. You can get a heat control (light dimmer) to turn down the heat as well if it gets to warm for you.
