I noticed several comments about people using the power supply in the PB420E to power their heated hoses. Some time ago I read comments from people whose 420E's did not work properly with the heated hose plugged into their power supply because the power draw on the 420E was more than its rated capacity. Has Puritan Bennet increased the available power in the 420E so that it can handle the current draw for both the machine and the heated hose?
Puritan Bennet & Heated Hose
According to Don Fischer of Sleepzone, there are a number of different power supplies sold for the 420E. The kind sold in Australia has enough power, the kind sold in Europe does not. I don't know about the States.

Re: Puritan Bennet & Heated Hose
I doubt very much that PB has changed anything about the machines they make for the U.S. market.Yoga wrote:Has Puritan Bennet increased the available power in the 420E so that it can handle the current draw for both the machine and the heated hose?
To be on the safe side, I'd NOT order the heated hose with piggyback connector for the 420E.
The people at sleepzone are very good about working with you. Recently I ordered another heated hose (a backup...my two year old heated hose still works fine) for the 420E. Immediately after placing the order I sent an email to Don Fischer telling him I had just placed an order and asking him to send me the original version for the 420E...with no piggyback connector. He was fine about doing that.
