why don't you just buy a machine and a mask and go it alone?

Actually if 200 dollar machine works, I might do that. I was under the impression it costs thousands.

There are posts on this forum all the time with people selling machines and masks and they are no where near thousands of dollars. Ask those that you trust which machine you should look into purchasing and then what pressures you should start with and download sleepyhead and post your results so they can help you tweak your pressures and see if they can help you and find out if you actually have OSA and get it under control. The people here really do want to help you. Can you afford to purchase a machine? If you buy from someone here you do not need to have a prescription. But do follow their advice as to starting pressures as they do know what they are doing. You should also still listen to them and insist on copies of all of the studies that you have had done, at the sleep centers and the one you just had done at home.

I told Enchanter I will take care of a machine, mask, tubing etc. I'm not asking for anything from him. I'm paying it forward.

Anyone that is as clueless/helpless as the OP professes to be could not function on his own out in the world and would require a guardian or some sort of conservatorship to be in place. If he's that oblivious after two months here, that he still has no clue about how to buy and operate the xpap gear or any notion of it's relative cost and asks the same questions ad nauseam, he needs to be back with mom and dad. He ain't getting it through his head, regardless of the amount of repetition, obviously. It's sad to watch so many good hearted folks tripping over themselves to help in what's essentially a helpless cause ! (due to their being duped, in my opinion.) The selectivity in which posts are responded to by "Enchanter" is very telling.

What hurts me so deeply is that people talk/type about Enchanter as if he is not here reading all of it! He's a young man who is not getting answers from a doctor who is supposed to be guiding him on health issues! Talk to Enchanter please. Pretend he is one of your children.

Enchanter, PM me your home address so I can send you everything I have. I'll find a card and reader for you. May take a few days but I will.

That is a very nice offer postitnote you are a gem. I hope he takes you up on your offer. Maybe he can finally get some relief. I can't imagine his frustration.

This was explained a few months ago. Since you have the time, I'm sure you can find it. It has to do basically with the fact that I bought a new computer and couldn't log on, and a glitch here on the forum. Knock yourself out! You obviously have lots of time on your hands.

And you.....obviously like to say different things and pretend to be a newbie while sayin' them. Try to be just you and own it. Also don't play arbiter for other's statements about their views, please. Ya posted this gem May 1st 2015 (after reading here for several weeks) remember ? What a charade and a farce !

"I've been reading this forum for several weeks now and despite the bully like tactics I seem to read in every other thread, it's apparent how much people here know about sleep apnea, their machines, etc. What is also apparent are the people who seem to spend their days and nights on this forum just waiting to jump on someone. There are also some who say things in jest; but if you read between the lines you'll notice the sarcastic, bully like messages they are sending.

I've never been on a board or forum and that may be why I'm utterly amazed at what people can say on a forum that I assume is to help people. I don't see moderation of any sort and that surprises me. Why aren't bully like tactics jumped on immediately? I've looked at some other apnea sites (and other help boards) and haven't found one where bullying or snide remarks were allowed.

It seems that some people are constantly logged on here. I've watched for about a week and they are always the same people. Their friends are here, their lives are here; it seems they stick together out of some kind of fear. Reminds me of a fraternity - where people unconsciously band together and bully and incite riots. If you join the "group" on this site you are IN, if not, you'll be ridiculed and insulted.

If I had sleep apnea related questions, it sure wouldn't be here. Nor would I purchase anything from the owners of this site."
