You are interested in one that records.
You wear the oximeter and start the recording. When the session is over you stop the recording. Then you download it to your computer via the software that comes with it. Now you can review your oxygen levels from various time frames. You can go minute by minute, or take 10 minutes at a time, or back up and see how things looked all night.
While it will answer your initial question, you will probably have additional questions that come up. The oximeter measures both oxygen levels and heart rate. The interaction between the two gives you two channels of data to look at.
xPAP add data from air flow and between all 3 you start to get an idea of what is going on when you sleep.
Once you have recorded your data and downloaded it to your computer, the question that you should now be able to answer is if your oxygen saturation remained above 90% all night.
OK, one question answered... Next?
For sure but what about the oxygen test I just took? Shouldn't that give me an idea? And yet the guy said he doesn't understand my data....

When you took the test, did you have a sensor that attaches to the tip of your finger?
Did you have that on during the test?

Enchanter, that's simple...
If you run a test and get questionable data, you throw it out and run the test again.
If you have your own oximeter and let's say it falls off during the night and your data looks strange. What do you do? Put it on and wear it the next night. Eventually you end up with data that makes sense.
Since you don't have your own equipment, you have to rely on others. They give you instructions. You follow them but somehow the data gets screwed up.
Now a reason the data is screwed up has to be drawn up and passed on. That has to be read and understood. Next a decision needs to be made if the test will be run again or not. And it has to be decided who is going to pay for the additional test. The "failed" data is entered into your medical record along with an explanation of why it isn't good enough to make a decision on.
Unfortunately, you get left out of the loop and sit around and "watch grass grow...
SpO2 96+% and holding...

Yes I did. He says he doesn't think I took it right. I did what he told me to. I slept. I had dreams. What does he want??

It is just my opinion (which in my house means nothing) that those who have a desire and the patience to help Enchanter should respond and post in his threads. Those that feel he/she is a troll, spammer, whatever, just don't read or respond. I think that Enchanter is more than likely legit and I also think that airing (sorry Morbius) will eventually be sold. I have faith I suppose. I like to find the good in things and people.
Enchanter, if you are f'in with people, stop. You're pissing off a lot of people. I do commend you for your ability though
If you are for real then please get some help from someone who can call the people doing your study and tell them to figure it out and quit messing with you!
For those of you who want to get mad at me for speaking up, don't! Just ignore what I am saying and click on another thread. If you think Enchanter is full of it then you are just allowing him to win and that means you look kinda silly!
Hugs to all
Morbius, are you bored?

Enchanter- Please call your Dr office and have them get the test results of your sleep test for you. Your Dr. who ordered the test is the one to call.

What good is it going to do? I have the test and then what? Without a mask, it won't matter.

I am legit. I'm not making stuff up. I never wanted to go through any of this. Everyday is hard. I already took 2 titration tests and just did a home sleep study and the guy is saying that he still doesn't think I did the test right. Makes no sense... I did what he told me to do. I placed the my finger in between the sensor bar, I attached the chest pieces and abdominal pieces accordingly. The guy says that this is why they don't do home tests, because they are hard to understand. This whole thing is shaky. This has been 2 months. I took my first test when the NBA Finals started. Now the NBA Finals are over and I went from 2 titration tests, back down to a diagnostic home test, and now the guy is telling me that my test doesn't add up. So what am I supposed to do? What's next? At this point, I don't know WHAT they're going to do. I don't know what they WANT. How many titration tests, home tests, do we need? Even if I do another home test and it's good enough, I'm not allowed to do the titration at home. This is going to take 16 years by the time they finish up the tests. I don't believe it.

Call your Doctor's office- or better yet, make an appointment with your Doctor and go see him and talk to him in person. It may help to have someone supportive to go with you.

He's very busy, he can't do anything for me. All I have are the tests he's giving me. But every week it's a different story, same results.

The problem is this is getting NOWHERE... All these tests.. It's getting nowhere. First a diagnostic test, then a titration. Then another titration. Then a home diagnostic test. Then, they say they don't understand the data and don't think I took it correctly. When does this end? Not to mention the fact that even if I get a mask, that could take months too! When does this end? It hasn't even started yet! 2 months in and we are going backwards!
That is why at times I'm just saying it feels like it's best to give up since it doesn't seem like this is every going to get anywhere. So please understand. I'm very frustrated, baffled and ashamed. It's getting to the point where I feel like giving up but I don't know what to do. This isn't good.

Get a mask, any mask at this point, it's not rocket science!
