Enchanter- Get a copy of your sleep test results from your Dr who ordered the test. That is the way to move forward. Don't give up. It's your health/your life.

why don't you just buy a machine and a mask and go it alone?

if you start feeling better, great, if not, sell it to someone else.

Call the doctor's office and ask if it's okay for them to talk to someone else so you can have a second person help you sort this all out. I don't see why that would be a problem. My husband refuses to do anything but show up to the doctors he sees. I have to go with and ask questions. He doesn't like doctors so he puts a wall up.

If we can get the test results they have on what they have done someone can interpret them here. If it looks like you have sleep apnea we can get you a mask and machine! There are great people here that will help you configure your pressure. We just need a place to start from and that report is vital
Morbius, are you bored?

PR is right!
This is super easy. Buy a machine for about $200. You don't need data capability you only need pressure. If you tweek the pressure upward and slowly; you will get good sleep. The machine will tell you what your AHI is at a given pressure. Increase very slowly; over a few months. If you have no AHI or low AHI and you are still lacking sleep then you can assume you have UARS. Increase pressure over a few months. Later if you decide you want a high end machine your $200 will serve as your backup. What’s the problem? Is it the $200?

Enchanter....do you have GAD?

Really? Someone on here wrote it could cost thousands. But doesn't a mask have to be customized?

Alright, might as well do that. But if it doesn't mean getting a mask, even with obvious results, then that means I'll have to buy my own mask or look into that.

Actually if 200 dollar machine works, I might do that. I was under the impression it costs thousands.

Excellent suggestion! I hope he thinks about it. I'm sure he can get a machine at Second Wind (or whatever) as many people have done.

nobody here said that.

and, as to the second part of your question, are you *completely* incapable of reading and understanding ANYTHING else on the forum?

I disagree, full data is critical. and an auto would be preferable. and he might not get good sleep, because there's many factors besides whether or not it's OSA.

what it WOULD do is end the waiting, and answer some questions.

I acquired 2 machines in the last few months. I only need one and you are welcome to the one I keep as a back-up. I just gave away all my extra non pillow masks but we can get one for you to start out with. I don't have the card reader I bought anymore. I gave it away because I couldn't get it to work. Maybe someone here who offered to send me one would send it to you instead! I have a new hose I can send too.
