Is there a manual online anywhere - or anything explaining what I'm looking at now that I have the software up and running? I'm lost

By the way, if you are collecting stats on what machines/OSes your software runs on, mine is a brand new MacBook Pro 17 inch running Lion and I'm using a SanDisk ExpressCard reader (this one: http://tinyurl.com/43ch7gq) to get to my SD card - all working well.

Here's the /dev listing with the CMS50-E oximeter plugged in and turned on. I believe cu.SpO2-DevB and tty.SpO2-DevB are entries from when I had it connected by BlueTooth. I hope that helps!

A new alpha test build for Mac OS X is available here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyh ... %20Builds/

This one is packaged as a DMG file and should allow drag-and-drop installation.

Mark has implemented Preferences and added some basic instructions to the Welcome page.

Lots of changes have been made. Since this is still alpha level, you should expect missing features and lots of bugs. Please report all problems encountered so that Mark can fix the bugs. (I'm just a tester, not a programmer.)

Although SleepyHead is read-only when accessing your SD card, it is a good idea to move the little switch to the locked position whenever you remove the SD card from your PAP machine. (Remember to move the switch back to the unlocked position before you put it back into your machine.) SleepyHead can also read the data from a folder on your computer. It is a good idea to back up your data to your computer, at least once a week, in a separate folder for each backup; ResMed stores only 7 days of the most detailed flow data and will erase such data when it is older than 7 days. Also, since SleepyHead is still alpha level, the database format may still change, and all data previously imported into SleepyHead may be lost. Back up your data outside SleepyHead.

Please advise immediately if you cannot mount the DMG file on your mac, or if you cannot start SleepyHead after dragging and dropping it into your Applications folder.

If you have not done so already, please subscribe to the sleepyhead-devel mailing list here:

https://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=513997

Mark uses the mailing list to announce significant developments.

You might start with the clinician's manual for your machine and the CPAP Wiki (lightbulb) at the very top of this page. They will explain a lot of the fundamental concepts and get you oriented. In short, you want to get your AHI below 5.0; the lower the better.

Yikes, the dmg mounted and I dragged it into Application, but trying to run it gave a crash dump that is huge. Do you want these pasted into the forum here? or sent by email to Mark?

Darn.. :-/

The mailing lists a good place for posting that stuff.. (text only, it's very naggy about attachments unfortunately) This forum is kinda getting too much nerdy stuff taking over already..

Find the mailing list here, (you gotta do a little menu navigation:) http://www.sf.net/projects/sleepyhead

I got an error message about timing out when I uploaded the DMG file to sourceforge, but I was able to download, mount, drag and drop, and start the program without any problem, so I thought the error message was meaningless. Maybe that is the problem. Mark should be able to tell.

Anyone else have the same problem as milw? Anyone NOT have that problem?

The Mac builds that I'm linking in this thread should be self-contained and not require the Qt SDK on your Mac.

Note that 0.8.2-2 will crash if you don't delete the SleepApp folder located in /Users/youraccount/Documents/SleepApp

I didn't realize that this applied to Mac as well as Windows. You'll have to import your data again, so I'm keeping a full backup of my P-Series folder somewhere else.

Applies to all builds.. 0.8.2 has a new database format.

I just added a warning message on first run to the source code to help catch this in future.

Versions 0.8.2 and beyond are capable of cleaning their own mess, provided I remember to increment the data version fields..

Hello all! New forum user here, just wanted to post a quick test report.

I installed SleepyHeadQT 0.8.2-2 on my new 27" iMac i7 last night, and it read the SD card from my ResMed S9 Elite just fine. I only had one day's data on the card, because I had attempted to use it with the ResScan software the day before (using Parallels) and had no success. I could never get ResScan to see the SD card at all. I think that I wiped most of the data from the card during those attempts.

Will check the card again in a couple days and see if it has data for multiple days.

Am I correct that SleepyHead copies the data from the card to ~/Documents/SleepApp, so I don't really need to worry about older data on the card?

Looks like the initial issues I saw are already in the bug tracker on SourceForge. Mostly it was the wierd rendering artifacts while scrolling, and the (mostly) illegible chart labels (left side).

I'm an experienced OS X and iOS developer, but I don't do C++ and know nothing about Qt, so I doubt I'll be able to help with SleepyHead. Sorry.

joe

I downloaded the new DMG file to my mac. It works fine. My data is kept on the desktop and I can access it.

Thanks for the report. It will be easier to distribute and install new drops this way.

Mark is taking a well-deserved break for a few days. In the meantime, we still need people to test the mac version, especially the oximetry functions, and report back with bugs, etc.
