This was done previously by the way a few years ago when someone using the screen name of Eric Falcon, MD posted and had written a book, UARS relief. But in my opinion, he dealt with it well and contributed some excellent detailed posts that I bookmarked. He wasn't scant with details that inferred that people needed to buy his book.

Obviously, people will have to make up their own minds regarding the current situation but it isn't as cut and dried as you make it out to be in my opinion.

True.

I am swayed toward a judgment of harassment, I suppose, by manner and activity elsewhere on the forums.

Whatever happens I do hope great books, video materials, and classes result in a well informed and much healthier and more successful population of those with Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I grow weary seeing so many out there with this disease and knowing that there is really no good solution for the greatest majority of them as things are.

Exactly!

That boy simply takes the advice that has been repeated here hundreds of times, repackages it (the literary equivalent of Dividing the Forum Into Sections, or a RestedGal post of Links To All xxx), takes credit for it, and sells it to desperate, unsuspecting, troubled souls searching for any scrap that they feel might help them.

While God undoubtedly has A Plan for people (vultures) who prey on the misfortune of others, "IMHO" I don't think The Carpetbagger should reap the monetary benefits of these ill-gotten gains in This Life.

BTW, at 61 pages, this doesn't qualify as a "book", it's more like a "pamphlet".

BTW2, anyone who has contributed here without asking for anything in return should be justifiably insulted by all this.

However, BTW3, anyone who has contributed here without asking for anything in return is truly Doing God's Work and will be repaid a heckuva lot more than the $9.99 (50% off for cpaptalk members)(See? Aren't I helpful? With friends like me...) The Carpetbagger is trying to squeeze out of people who, in many cases, might be able to use that money for something else.

heaven forbid that someone that wrote a book or may write a book about CPAP comes on here..... they have to be a thief or a nasty person.

I have not seen any posting of "buy my book for more information on this" or any type of sales pitch from sleepwellCPAP tricking someone into buying it. He has a simple tag line on his ID about his book.

take the tag line off and he is simply a poster on the forum just like the rest of us.

Molete has suggested I throw out my 3 best tips.

Actually, I already have. When I started posting CPAP Basics 1, in my opinion initial mask fit and cleanliness was the most important thing you should focus on first. Then in 2 I implied tube control and now in three I'm suggesting it's your humidity level.

Certainly look forward to any comments or feedback or suggestions.

Regarding Jim and his intentions, when he first came on here I had my suspicions that he may just be "peddling". But I've observed since that he spends most of his energy here trying to help and encourage. I am particularly drawn to his energy and positive attitude. He claims to have helped 3000+ patients. If that is true then he is a resource we should welcome. Now he could just be posting to get eyes on his tagline to make sales, but I say give the guy a chance. I really don't see anybody getting rich off a $10 ($5 to forum members) CPAP book.

I hate, hated, hated English composition in college. I don't like composing any better now. It's a struggle for me.
Public speaking and English composition...not going to happen in my lifetime.

Pugsy....IMO you have written many books.....they are all over this forum. I have learned more from your posts than anyone who has published and sold a book. There is so much caring and heart along with all of your knowledge. All those words ( countum up) not asking for anything in return.

Technically the book link is a violation but in the past exceptions have been made to the rule.
It's the Goodman's forum and their sandbox so they get to decide what they want to allow or make exceptions on. We play by their rules.
If anyone is wondering...I did contact Carolyn and if you want to know what she told me....contact her if you don't feel like the link should be there.
I have a problem with the link but that's my opinion and I have a right to have it just like others have a right to have a different opinion.
