Hi "Jayjonbeach"

Here is one of the unwritten rules of this Forum.

Trolls are allowed to say anything they want.

You have to put up with it.

If you complain, you will be condemned as a Troll yourself.

There is nothing you can do about this.

I see you are now getting yourself entangled, and unless you just want the practice in dealing with Trolls like Really I suggest you walk away, and let it go.

Huh! I thought "Really" WAS the moderator!? Maybe we need to go trolling for a new moderator.

Really, why don't you resign and let somebody else be moderator for a while? I vote for GumbyCT.

Oh, I know. Where is "nobody"? Maybe "nobody" should be the moderator. Or "who"?

Thanks Mars, looks like you are definitely one of the more rational posters here. Your right, and it looks like a few others are wanting to jump on the bandwagon too that he/she started, this is what unmoderated forums turn into, a shame.

I can let a smart*ss remark or two go but anyone that wants to dish out direct insults like "really" did better be prepared to get them back, and then some.

Interesting (well, to me, anyway) history from Wikipedia that may or may not be true:
"The most likely derivation of the word troll can be found in the phrase "trolling for newbies", popularized in the early 1990s in the Usenet group, alt.folklore.urban (AFU). Commonly, what is meant is a relatively gentle inside joke by veteran users, presenting questions or topics that had been so overdone that only a new user would respond to them earnestly. . . . These types of trolls served as a practice to identify group insiders. This definition of trolling, considerably narrower than the modern understanding of the term, was considered a positive contribution. One of the most notorious AFU trollers, Snopes, went on to create his eponymous urban folklore website. By the late 1990s, alt.folklore.urban had such heavy traffic and participation that trolling of this sort was frowned upon. Others expanded the term to include the practice of playing a seriously misinformed or deluded user, even in newsgroups where one was not a regular; these were often attempts at humor rather than provocation."

That sounds fine....but this time prospective candidates need to have

Then I ACCEPT!

Thank you, everyone.

There are gonna be a few BIG changes around here. "Really" is now banned. And "Banned" is now "Unbanned."

All references to other apnea forums are now verboten. As are all foreign words.

The biggest change will be that henceforth all questions about the institution of categories will automatically be moved from this forum to the appropriate category at apneasupport.

Thank you for your attention, everyone.

Hey if that is what most people want, then that is how it should be, no arguement there.

Now if they just had a "delete thread" button, we could save this now useless discussion from getting in the way of more important topics (note that if there was a general discussion forum, that wouldn't happen! Sorry, just sayin... )
ozij wrote:Well, you can edit your own subject line to something like: "Ok, I get it, please don't respond".... Sorry, just sayin...
What ozij said!! Think you should have stopped right there, Jayjonbeach.......push back from the computer, put on your mask and get some great restful sleep?.....
carbonman wrote:Popcorn or no popcorn....another classic category thread developing.

implied insults...bruised feelings......threats of being overcome by reality.....

and we're only 2 pages in.
And Carbonman looks like we're back to choosing up sides.............Dang! where's that popcorn?!! This could last for days! Unless somebody takes his nap....OR

Actually now that I see what this forum is REALLY like, and Mars has confirmed, apparently the title of the thread WAS wrong and I WILL edit the title.

"TROLL ALERT - IF YOU ARE BORED HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO TROLL"

sad but apparently true. Have fun with it, got things to do.

So far I haven't been able to give away my identity, no matter how hard I have tried. One guy stole it for an hour or so, but quickly gave it back.
