You have a full data machine...model DSX500xxx
You have chosen the wrong machine in your equipment profile.

You need to choose the DreamStation Auto CPAP from the options and not the choice without Auto in the model name.
It will help avoid confusion later when people start telling you that your machine isn't a good machine.
You do have a good machine and yes...there is data for the VA to monitor your results remotely and they can even make changes remotely.

Oh that is so good to know. I didn’t realize the VA could make changes remotely. I hope I never have another night with a 15.8 AHI. I really felt like crap this morning. Thankfully I was able to take a nap a little while ago, but most days I don’t have that luxury. No idea yet what happened last night. All of my other AHI‘s have been between 1-3. I will go to my profile now and see about changing to the correct model.

Thank you. I have that corrected about allowing other users to view info. Now I’ll have to try to find Zonker and the links. I really have no idea what I’m doing.

someone mention my name?

yes please see the links in my sig. you're looking for the oscar download, so that you can post some charts.

so please get started on it. if you have any questions, please post them in this thread so we can help you get your charts posted. then the experts here can begin to really help you out.

good luck!
I looked for the Oscar download. And I just saw the option for Windows and Mac. I do everything on an iPad or an iPhone. Will the download work with iOS?

Thank you so much!

No...unfortunately no version of either OSCAR or SleepyHead that will work on an iPad or iPhone.

We will have to make do with what DreamMapper shows you...it's not much more than what is on the machine LCD screen but we can at least figure out what kind of apnea events using DreamMapper.
Do you know about DreamMapper?

Regarding the high AHI last night...it's really hard to guess what might have happened without seeing what kind of events and when they got flagged.
But maybe you were on your back more and just needed more pressure and the machine couldn't get it done fast enough or maybe you had a lot of awake/arousal related flagged events simply because you didn't sleep well in general.

I wouldn't worry too much about it right now....we all have bad nights from time to time. Worry about it if it becomes a habit.

That sounds like very good advice. No I have not tried dreammapper yet. I have seen it mentioned on the LED screen but have not explored it.

So I take it the OSCAR cannot be downloaded to the Safari browser?

I think there is a dream mapper iPhone app. I will have to check that out.

I think last night all of my events probably occurred between two and three. I woke up at two feeling cold , and adjusted the thermostat. Big mistake. Bright LED light always messes with my sleep. Then I had trouble getting back to sleep and the CPAP kept waking me up with my mouth filled with air. I had horrible nightmares. Then just went ahead and got up at 3 o’clock. And oddly enough the duration of sleep read 5.5, and I was in bed wearing the mask for a full seven hours (minus the 2 minutes it took to adjust the thermostat and go to the bathroom).

The machine will sometimes show only the last session on the LCD screen when there are multiple sessions during the night.
That might explain why it shows 5.5 hours instead of your total time with the machine on.
It's possible that the 2 minute break to go to the bathroom caused the second session to show on the screen all by itself.
If you were able to use the software you would see that the first session was indeed recorded and total time was probably closer to the 7 hours.
The AHI shown is also just for those 5.5 hours and very likely high because of the poor sleep that second session.
The AHI for the first session probably was a lot lower.

Since you report waking at 2 and having problems and most likely not being able to sleep well then it is possible that the time from 2 to 3 is where the bulk of your AHI flagged events are. It is very possible that you had a bunch of false positive flagged events because of the tossing and turning and problems getting back to sleep and your discomfort.
So it is possible that the high AHI was caused by awake breathing irregularities getting flagged by mistake. Remember the machine doesn't have a clue if you are awake or not. It can only measure air flow and our awake breathing/air flow is much more irregular than our asleep breathing and the machine can and will flag the irregularities as some sort of apnea event. It also will respond to awake breathing irregularities as well.

So it's possible that you feel crappy because you had a crappy night's sleep and the AHI being high is just a symptom of the crappy night's sleep.

It's not so much that the software won't work if downloaded with Safari but the fact that the operating system on your iPad simply won't know what to do with the software. It's not compatible with it plus there is no way to get the data off the SD card into your iPad. So it's not Safari that is the problem...it's the operating system on your iPad or iPhone that is the problem. Just not compatible with the software.

DreamMapper does have a phone app available....that's your best bet most likely.
DreamMapper is sometimes slow to update and it's a bit limited on what it offers but it at least will give you a total apnea count with event categories broke down. Then we manually can figure out the hourly index for each category.

as pugsy said (more eloquently), nope!

oscar no work on ios at present.

so the experts here will have to work the problem with the dream mapper software.

as always, good luck!

I feel great this morning and seem to have had a good night's sleep. I will enclose a picture of my first night with the DreamMapper. I can see the total count. But I’m not sure what is meant by event categories. I don’t see a separate tab for categories. Or a way to figure out the hourly index for each category. I’ll fiddle around with it later on today. I have some appointments this morning.

I want to thank you guys so much for all the help! You have been wonderful, and so so patient with a newbie.Image

I am not familiar with the options within DreamMapper but there should be a screen that shows how many total apneas you had in each category. Sorry I can't tell you where to find it or how to get to it.
Clear Airway
Obstructive Airway
Hyponea

At any rate...with an AHI less than 1.0 I wouldn't even bother looking....there's not going to be very many in each category.
For the entire night you only had maybe 5 events total.

I’m also a newbie here (on Aircurve 10 ASV for centrals only). Thank you all for this invaluable forum. Just trying to learn about Oscar and uploading graphs etc first before I start asking too many questions. I clicked on Zonkers name but I don’t see any links. I’m on my iPhone...do I need to be on my laptop first to see the links? I’m at the point where I have Oscar and uploading my data daily, I just have no idea how to really read it or upload the graphs to this forum. Any help please?

I’ll dig deeper into the DreamMapper and see if I can find those categories. Last night was a good night. I would be more interested in a night like last night where it was 15.8. Maybe they’ll never be another night like that. Wouldn’t that be nice!

Start by reading the Sticky at the top of the Announcements section..."Newbies please read".
A good many of your questions will be answered there or within links found in that sticky.
Come back with a new thread/topic of your own with any questions you might have.
Just in case you can't see the Announcements section or the sticky thread on your phone

viewtopic/t172378/Sticky--Newbies-PLEAS ... STING.html

Zonkers does have some links in his posts but they are in his signature line and people using iPhones may not be able to see them.

I found those categories. But it did not transfer any data prior to August 1. So there is only one night there. I think it will be a lot more useful after a couple of weeks.

Thank you so much for all of your help!
