Re: OSCAR Suggestions & Bug reporting

Hello, and thanks for all your work on this! :) I am a long-time user of SleepyHead, and have just downloaded and installed OSCAR, and migrated data. Everything seems to be working as it did in Sleepyhead.

I have a question and request. I really don't want to print out a daily report for my and my doc's reference (new doc). However, when I go to OSCAR -- Statistics tab -- Monthly option, I see the familiar 12 months back from the current month. I would like to have the ability to input the 12 month period I want to display and print, i.e. from past years, Jan. thru Dec 2018, Jan. thru Dec. 2017, and so on. It may be that I have not thoroughly explored the options in OSCAR, but if the ability is not there, I would like to request that it be added.

If it IS there, can you point me to it?

Thanks in advance, and again, thanks for all the work building on Mark's original program.

Currently, OSCAR does not have the ability to set a date range for the statistics report. I'll add that to our suggestions list if it is not already there.

You can set a date range for the overview screen and report.

Thank you! something exactly like what can be done with the overview report would be perfect!

It is a long thread so it is possible this was suggested before...

OSCAR computes the 95% pressure figures for the daily and the statistics tabs. I'd like to see the other end of the pressure range, too. Could we get the 5% pressure figures, i.e., the pressure that the machine is above all but 5% of the time?

I've logged this. Can you say more about how you would find that information useful?

This could be the voice of ignorance, but here goes:

With CPAP you need a (fixed) pressure setting that deals with the majority of events. That's what the 95% measure is taken to be, if I understand things correctly. With APAP, the machine will try to figure out what is effective pressure moment-to-moment. The problem is, they cannot respond instantly, so what is a reasonable lower bound for the pressure range.

For my own case, my Resmed Airsense 10 is set for 10-15 cmH20, but "eyballing" the graph from OSCAR suggests it is almost always above 11. The response time for the machine from 10 to 11 is probably not important, but it would be more of an issue had my machine been set to 4-20.

Long story short (and again, I admit my naivete), I'm looking for something that may guide setting the low end for the pressure range.

I recommend you just start a new thread on the forum, asking your question there. Include a screenshot of the daily page and I expect lots of people will offer experienced advice on the best approach to setting both low and high limits for your APAP machine. That's a much easier, and I think more reliable, approach to optimizing your therapy, since therapy is much more than just the settings and numbers.

See the links on how to organize your daily page and how to attach screenshots to your post.

Oscar crashes when attempting to import data on Mac OS Catalina beta.

How do you change machine information? I transferred my info from SleepyHead, but it will only let me change my profile. I just switched from an APAP to an ASV and would like to update that info.

Click on your name at the top right of the page
Then select the profile tab
Then click edit equipment
If your machine is not listed put the information in additional comments then press submit

Are you talking about telling SleepyHead/OSCAR what machine you are using or the forum equipment change thing?

No need to do anything with SleepyHead....it will automatically know that the data is from a different machine because it pulls from the machine's serial number. Your new machine will show up automatically under the "changes in prescription" area.

Now if you are talking about the forum equipment selection...what Jas said but your new machine won't be offered in the machine menu...so just manually add it to your comments section and don't choose a machine at all from the machine menu choices.

Thanks Jas and Pugsy. I guess I wasn’t very clear. What I meant was that after installing Oscar and transferring the SleepyHead data, Oscar listed my old equipment instead of my new ResMed ASV and I was looking for a way to change it. But it sounds like you’re saying it will change it automatically once I put the chip in.

I just tried the new machine for half an hour and had a very hard time. I just don’t breathe as deeply naturally as the amount of air it’s pushing in with each breath. Also I had what I think is called rainout. I’m using a nasal mask and water started to get on my nose, through the mask. I have heated tubing this time which is new for me. How do you stop this from happening?

Smargie....yes...the software will know how to add in the new machine information without you having to do anything. I think at last count I had 6 different machines showing in my Prescription history. It shows when you started the new machine and everything.
And I responded to your other issues in your thread so as to not derail this thread anymore...Your issues aren't really related to an Oscar bug.

Oscar gave me the reports for my two practice runs with my new ASV. But I used the machine for 4+ hours last night and nothing is showing up on Oscar for it. I did make sure the card was in the unlocked position before I inserted it last night. I checked 3 times during the night for proper mask fit and got a smiley face each time, but this morning I got the frowning face for mask fit, though it did register that I had used the machine for the proper amount of time. At the DME they said that if your mask is not fitting properly none of your hours will count. I also downloaded the myAir app for ResMed but it keeps saying that the info for last night is not available yet. Grrr.... Does it sound like I've done something wrong, and if so, what?

OSCAR will only import once a day

If you imported data before your nights sleep it won’t import the new data.

Go up to Data Purge current selected day and then you can reimport
