At the DME they said that if your mask is not fitting properly none of your hours will count.
That's a whopper. They just wanted to get you off the phone. Or out the door.

There was another whopper if I remember right....she was told that she HAD to use it every night for 30 nights in a row.
No mention as to the usual 70% compliance stuff. I assume the DME did what a lot of them do...tell people a lot more than is really needed just to put the fear of God in them so they will use it. I hate liars.

Well, that's a relief! Two big fat whoppers...I wonder why they want to put the fear of God in us. What would they get out of that? But she specifically said "You need to do 2 things: Wear it for at least 4 hours a night for 30 nights straight, and see your doctor in 30 to 90 days." OK, maybe she's not as nice as I thought she was.

Go up to Data Purge current selected day and then you can reimport
That kind of blows because then you can't count naps or practice sessions. Anyway, I was successful purging the selected day, but couldn't figure out how to reimport. :?:

Never mind! I took the card out and reinserted it and that did the trick. And it actually did report the practice time, so maybe you just shouldn't try to upload them until the following day.

FYI - you can return to the "Welcome" tab, or pick File/Import SDcard Data on the menu to re-import. Or press SHIFT+F2

No need to remove the card.

A suggestion:

On the Statistics tab, I'd sure like to have a zebra stripe pattern that alternates by row. My eyes have trouble staying on a row with all the white space between the columns. Just a very light grey and white alternating rows. In the "changes to prescription" area

Why?
Just don't import multiple times a day.

This doesn’t really have anything to do with OSCAR per se, but is more of a technical question.

I’m buying a new laptop or Chromebook. I finally narrowed my search down to two and then it occurred to me that whatever I buy will need an SD slot so that I can get the info from my ResMed downloaded onto it. It seems that most Chromebooks and cheap laptops have slots for micro SD cards if they have a reader at all. My budget is limited and I can’t afford many bells and whistles.

Could I use a card adapter to put a micro SD card into the ResMed? Conversely, is there anyway to adapt a regular sized SD card to make it usable on a computer with a micro slot SD reader?

USB sd card readers are very cheap.

I recommend you investigate carefully whether you can run OSCAR on a Chromebook as OSCAR does not have a version for ChromeOS.

This from the University of Michigan Neurosciences page:

As far as Medicare is concerned, you are not compliant unless you are using your machine at least 4 hours each night for 70% of the nights. So, if you use your machine 22 days out of 30 for at least 4 hours a night you are compliant. If you use your machine for 3 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds, you did not use it enough so you were noncompliant.

When documentation begins
Medicare considers the first 90 days a trial period. Documentation of compliance begins after 31 days of usage but before 90 days of usage. In other words, documentation must be done between Day 32 and Day 89 of the time you started using the machine.

I found this same info on numerous other sites. So all my worry about using it at least 4 hours during the first 30 days is for naught. They won't start counting until next month. ARGH!!!

I think this means your Doctor must document (report) the usage during this period. Not that the usage can't start before day 31.

The key word here is documentation. If you can document compliance at day 31 because you used it for at least 4 hours per night for 21 days out of 30, your doctor can document that you are compliant. This can be on 32nd day after you start your machine and trial period. Yes, you might be compliant by day 22, but you cannot have your doctor appointment to document compliance until day 32. I don't recall exactly when I had my appointment to document compliance -- it was shortly after the 32nd day.
