(We have more fun here in the back of the class.) - CGranny and others

Head of the class - jnk

CGranny and others at the back of the class are behind jnk.

Jnk gets "Kick Me" sign taped to his back.

CGranny and others at the back of the class can read the sign.

An appropriate conclusion for a thread originated by D.H.

I only get sent to the head of the class when I have to stand with my nose in the corner for a while, which also happens to be when the sign on my back becomes most apparent.

Which is why if anyone pats me on the back, I check immediately for some sort of "kick me" sign taped between my shoulders.

but,but,but...if you're in the back of the class, who would see i?

They failed logic class, of course.

I'd be happy if I could just get a straight answer on how thick the rubber glove on my mouse hand needs to be to keep me from catching COVID-19 over the Internet.

Hopefully that will all be covered for me in the in-depth news conference to be held by the experts in a few hours.

I just use a plain sandwich bag (17cm X 20cm).
So far no symptoms.

Good to hear.

Just remember that some seemingly contagious ones show no symptoms whatsoever.

Which is exactly why, for now, the logic-graduate CDC recommendations focus only on those with symptoms.

Symptoms, by the way, being such rare stuff as feeling a little warm, clearing one's throat audibly once in public, or perhaps breathing a little heavy (without being on the phone).

Which, for me, as an overweight allergy sufferer with OSA, means I am hereby quarantined off the planet for the next 18 months or so before I am welcome on earth again, apparently.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Clinical Trial for cNEP

Post by GrumpyHere » Thu Dec 30, 2021 11:29 pm

The pilot study did seem encouraging.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5529126/

They are now recruiting for a N = 200 clinical trial.

https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04861038

The clinical study is the usual bogus 50% reduction and AHI < 20.

Edit: spelling is hard????

TIL that someone can be named Bugus :D

Given how promising the pilot study results were:

Image

It was disappointing that they decided on such low criteria to measure success.
Primary Outcome Measures :
  • Sustained response to aerSleep II therapy at 24 weeks [ Time Frame: 24 weeks ]
The primary effectiveness endpoint is to demonstrate that a majority of adult subjects who are initial responders to aerSleep II therapy experience a change of at least 50% of their baseline AHI with an AHI rate less than 20 per hour at the final home sleep test at 24 weeks.
  • Adverse Device Effects [ Time Frame: 24 weeks ]
The primary safety endpoint is to characterize the adverse device effects experienced throughout the study
From a financial standpoint, it is understandable. But I hope they will break down the data regarding treated AHI as in the pilot.

"Low criteria" is completely expected.
Part of the reason why so much stuff doesn't work as advertised.
The bottom line takes precedence over actually making a difference.
It only matters to the inve$tor$.
The rest of us can sink or swim, because none of them cares enough.
