I think I am remembering the diagnosing doctor cannot also own the sleep lab.

Physician-owned sleep labs are reimbursed under Medicare, and the physician that owns the lab and does the diagnosis also gets reimbursed.

Physician-owned sleep labs cannot sell equipment to Medicare/Medicaid patients. But, they can sell to patients covered by private insurance and self-pay patients.

I would like to have one to use on overseas flights. As I refuse to use CPAP on the plane, this might be a reasonably effective alternative that is easy to use.

I will contact the company to see when they expect approval by the FDA. If not soon, I wouldn't be against traveling to Canada to buy one. Looks like I would need to find a doc there that would write a script for me.

My UARS has not been responsive to pap therapy. Is there any way to get this in the US? I'm in Seattle, so Vancouver is right around the corner.

We are in the process of updating the aerSleep home sleep apnea product, after which we will need to re-submit the new design for regulatory approvals in Canada, Europe and elsewhere before we can re-introduce it into the market. FDA approval for the US will be quite some time off, but we anticipate starting our FDA pivotal clinical trial at multiple US sites mid this year. Our reapproval to sell in Canada has been delayed because we couldn’t schedule a regulatory audit before the beginning of this month.



I suggest that you check back with us in 4 months time regarding the status of our Canadian product launch and FDA clinical trials. Pricing is anticipated to be similar to CPAP, but without need for a humidifier or an additional battery pack. Products will only be available through our Canadian distributor at launch.
