Bonnie,
I second what islander is saying. I work in a sleep lab in PA that was one of the first to receive the Hybrids. I have titrated 5 out of my 8 patients since then with the Hybrid. Its great for split studies when you are under time constraints and cannot have leaks crop up during titration. I have cleaned it several times and re-used it.
I can understand why you are asking though. The ResMed Swift is difficult to take apart and reassemble and it loses the factory seal when you pull it apart. This mask Hybrid is definitely not like that.
This hybrid is a phenomenal design. The only negative thing I can point out is that the quick release clips of the headstraps are a little hard, they could have ben a little softer but it certainly is not a big deal.
If I were to rate it, I would give it 9/10. As comparison, I would rate the F&P HC431 a 6 or 7.

I placed my order at cpap.com last night. Since I saw the comments about them being out of stock and hadn't heard anything one way or the other, I called after lunch today. They said they were expecting them in today and it should ship today.
I just got an E-Mail that it shipped. Yeah! I can't wait to get it. The leaks from the UM FF are driving me crazy and the sore nose that I get off and on with it won't be missed either.

Thanks for cancelling your order just to be sure they had one to send me. (Just kidding!)

Count me in! After following this thread for several days now and gathering all of the great info., I went ahead and ordered, out of pocket! I am willing to spend the $$$ on a product that may allow me to sleep comfortably, less tape and a chinstrap! What a great backup for cold and sinus season too! Hope to get mine next week! Will post here how it works for me.

I did it out of pocket, too, tonight. I figured I'd give the one I get from insurance in August to my son, who has no benefits as of right now, or this one, if I don't like it, and order something else from insurance in August. It just sounded too good to wait for.
If I had just waited a little while longer, all those people who have ordered them and don't end up liking them will put them up for sale here on the boards, as with the CL2. But now I'll probably be one of those...I'm a tough person to please when it comes to masks. I just couldn't resist all the positive feedback on this one. And this is my spice in my therapy, trying different masks, so...fingers are now crossed for it not to be out of stock and for it to live up to its reputation, for me, anyway.

Good luck to all of you. Hope it will be the best mask yet.
Lori, let me know how it compares to the beloved Aura.

Anonymous wrote:For those of you who like nasal pillows, etc. QUESTION?? I have the swift and the Comfortlight2, my nares (is that a fancy word for nostril?) are sensitive and sore, no matter the size of the pillow, no matter if I adjust the straps loose, etc. And I also use a gel. How long does it take to "toughen up" the things?
_________________Some of us never toughen up. I quit the nasal breeze due to irritation, and the only thing I can remotely get to work is the resmed activa mask. Fortunately my glasses hide most of the septal irritation! Hope this mask turns out to be all it's promised to be.

Linda,
I certainly will. I don't know how anything can compare to the "beloved Aura," but I'd be thrilled to find something that does. This just was screaming "ORDER ME, ORDER ME," so I did.
Mommaw,
You and me both. I think it's a disease, and we really do need MJA around here (Mask Junkies Anonymous). But at least the money is going to a good purpose (when the masks are usable, anyway). By the way, cute avatar!

I don't want to start a riot here, but I just spoke with cpap.com to see if they are in stock still, since I ordered last night, and I was informed that the delivery due on 6/30 was pushed back to 7/7 by the manufacturer, which is Friday. So those of us who are still seeing "Processing" next to our order numbers will HOPEFULLY have ours sent out on Friday. I was told they will ship out on the same day cpap.com receives them. She also informed me that they have been "pushed back" a couple of other times by the manufacturer, so this is a hopeful in-stock date.
Guess we just have to keep in mind, good things come to those who wait; and, hopefully, this will be a good thing.

Been busy at work so haven't had a chance to get back to here. will be writing a reveiw for CPAP.com.
After a a week this one is a keeper for me. I really like that my nose is clear and I can see without any interference. I do wear the straps tight because of the beard but my lower face is less sensitive than my nose so it works out. First nasal pillows that don't make my nostrils flare up, so all good stuff.
Perfect? Well can't say that but the best so far for me. It does leak some so my readings seem to be off. I think the only way to solve that is shave the beard (not happening). But as my doc said masks leak, just make sure it doesn't leak into you eyes. The leaking seems to occur at the bottom of the mask. I am still not sure it isn't due to the exhaust ports. Mask puts out more air than any I ever had.
Last night my nose was stuffed up so it was great to be able to mouth breath. Cleaning is easy. At first I would just take the silicone off from the hard plastic peice and wash that with the pillows intact. then I realized that i was Umm causing some rainout of my own from my mouth. so now its just unhook the straps and rinse everythign with the mask ikept together. Like RG i don't like risking losing seals or tearing or rubbing parts the wrong way if I don't have to.
This ends my very long review in this thread, will be posting a shorter one for the board. Oh one more downside. Haven't needed to Lab rat a thing.

Mike, I find the same thing. This mask puts out more air from exhaust ports. I think it is due to less deadspace and hence less CO2 rebreathing risk.
My neighbor suffers from both OSA and COPD. She cannot afford to rebreathe too much CO2. I bought a hybrid online. When I get it, I'm going to give it to her.

72 members answered the mouthleak poll. Only 26% of them said they had no problem.

Having read the review, and looked at the patient video (on
http://www.hybridmask.com), I have a hunch the hybrid will be a reall winner.
But at that price, - despite the fact it can be used with glasses (and I am sooooo shortsighted, um, physically) I'm taking a pass, at least for the near future...
I'm glad you finally found such a good mask, Mike!
