SleepyHead 0.9.3 is the latest version and it works fine with the new 60 series machines (as well as the prior model 50 series machine). No more need to do the Patch if you have Windows computer.
If you have a Mac you still need the special Patch file for 60 series machines if that is what you have.
Links in my signature. Let me know if you have a Mac and I will send information about the Patch and Macs
You can also use the software that Jerry sent you...Windows only though..no Mac version.

What kind of card is this?

Post by billski » Fri Oct 11, 2013 1:58 pm

Here's a question I should really know the answer to. What kind of memory card is in my Siemens? I pulled it out, it doesn't look like what I expect an MMC card to look like. I also cannot find a compatible reader slot on my PC for it. I notice it's called a "smart card" on their web site, and they sell a $60 reader. Well, I'm not going there! It doesn't have the expected set of pins, all in a row on the edge. It's got a metallic surface that looks just like a smart card (credit card sized), with exposed metal on the underneath. I can't find an online photo of it. All I can say is that it's long and skinny.

What am I looking at?

Thanks,
Bill

OK Bill... I'll tell you.... It's a SIM card. This is the same technology that a "Smart Card" (size of a credit card) uses However, it's put into a very small card, about 2/3 the size of an MMC. It has no row of pins. The contacts are on the underside.
SIM cards were used by early digital cameras, but went out of favor. It looks to me that Phillips changed to a SIM card from an MMC card to make it more difficult for people like us to peek under the hood at the data.

Here is the details on my machine.
Respironics
REMstar Auto A-Flex
Date of Manufacture: 20130722 (July 22, 2013)
Revision 00
3.xx
REMstar Auto, DOM

It looks like I'll be buying a SIM reader online today. Be careful, these multi-purpose readers, (8 to 1, 30 to 1, 50 to 1 and so on) in general do not support SIM, so read carefully. They also seem to be rather particular about which version of Windows they work with. I don't know about Apple. I will report back which reader works for me.

This thread for ResScan software is for the software that works on the ResMed machines. ResScan won't work on any Respironics machines.
SleepyHead will work with both the ResMed S9 machines as well as all the PR System One Respironics machines except the PR S1 ASV model 960.
PR System One ASV model 960 users right now have only one choice of software.
I sent you a private message asking for further information and then we can figure out exactly what software options you might have.

This machine is supported by SleepyHead. Manufactured this late I would assume a model 560.
When you get your card reader so you can communicate with your computer let me know if you have SleepyHead up and running and if you want to try Respironics software I can help you out but Encore is Windows based only software.

Check your private messages.
Also I forgot to mention. You can also use SleepyHead if you want to. It's kinda fun. Still Beta but fun and easy to use.
Also it has a Mac version as well as Windows version.

I am all wrong. The SIM card is associated with a wireless cell phone adapter which plugs into the machine and hides the MMC card. It took a good yank to remove cell phone unit.

I pulled out the MMC card and I'm good to go. I can read it using Encore Basic. I was hoping there was more I could do with it; it appears to only pring I'd delete my comments if I could so as not to lead others astray.

sorry about that!
