This forum is the nicest one I belong to. Some of the artist forums are the ugliest nastiest places I have been on the net. Then there are the religious forums OMG - not much love and peace there. And the "big issues Debate" on my knitting forum - well it is a good thing knitting needles don't fit through the monitor....

This forum has information "hey look a squirrel" galore, lots of sweet support "hey look a squirrel" and "suck it up buttercup" "hey look a squirrel" support and "hey look a squirrel" ....

IYAM, some of his posts appear a little disjointed, like there may be an underlying cognition issue (note apparent history of stroke).

I am not going to go back through old threads to see if I can find out what happened (too tired). This is NOT an unfriendly forum, although we have our moments where sometimes we don't come off as friendly as we could.

That being said.....

If you aren't getting what you need or want here, then leaving is appropriate.

But to make a blanket statement about this forum being "unfriendly" -- not fair to those that have been as nice as humanly possible and make a habit of being that way.

I can envision someone sick posting, making an error in the midst of an attack, then keeling over - hope that isn't what happened to OP.

I'm fairly new hear and have received priceless information and help adjusting to perhaps the most stressful thing that's happened to me recently. Namely 'Sleep Apnea'. There are some 'boo birds' here but it's such a small bunch and hardly worth a mention. As you go along, you find out who they are and move past them. If there comes a time when I'm able to give back, I will be more than happy to do so. So far, I'm still processing all this new info.

To the op...sorry you didn't like it here, sometimes we have to take it with a grain of salt, but most of the time the advice and help you get is invaluable. Perhaps, once you get some great therapy under your belt you will fell less like a person with lack of sleep, and feel the need to join us again.
We aren't a bunch of village idiots, some of us do get rather sleep deprived and can get a bit testy at times, but the majority of us have given our therapy a chance and are well enough to come back and help out those that drastically need it.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

BlackSpinner, has any one told you lately how just utterly awesome you are?

Chunky,

As one of my favorite posters, I really hate to disagree with you about this issue but in my opinion, this attitude drives people away from the forum vs. encouraging them to visit and register.

I just don't understand why people are driven to do this.

Also, how do you know someone is De-Nile because other than what they post on this forum, you don't know the whole story.

As one of those people who so far has failed at cpap therapy in spite of my best efforts, this motto pains me greatly. I just wish there was more compassion regarding this issue and perhaps that is what the OP is talking about.

Yes, I agree there are fantastic folks on this forum, including you Chunky. But I really wish people would think about how hurtful this tough love attitude is.

Actually, I have and I know exactly what you are talking about:) That is why I never have posted there. LOL!

As an aside, for those folks who think Democrats never criticize other Democrats, they haven't visited this site:)
