SleepyHead 0.9.1 Official Beta Release

Post by jedimark » Tue Jan 10, 2012 7:40 am

Hi there,

I'm proud to be able to share a new toy for fans of SleepyHead.. v0.9.1, the firstest ever official beta release

It's only been a month since the last test build, but there have been MASSIVE changes..

I'm not going to copy the release notes this time, as there are too many changes to list here.. instead you can them here:
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/s ... otes-0.9.1

Seriously, please read the release notes..

Important Information about this release, please read..
  • SleepyHead has a new data folder, "SleepyHeadData", it still lives in your Documents folder.. It's safe to delete the old "SleepApp" folder when your done with it.
  • SleepyHead now has an installer on windows.. It's binary files get put in a folder under Program Files like any other application.
  • Data is unfortunately NOT compatible with previous versions, as there have been big changes underneath.. It will be compatible with all future versions. The good news is you can run the old version concurrently to copy over any data.
  • Don't bother trying to rename the old SleepApp directory, it won't work. (there is a very slim chance you could copy journal notes/weight data over, but it requires a bit of hacking around)
  • All versions previous to this 0.9.1 release were technology previews, and are officially obsolete.. Please resubmit any bugs if you find them still standing.
  • Check Preferences before doing the first import.. there are some useful settings to check beforehand.
  • User event flagging now also works for ResMed users.. If you changing the preferences for it, SleepyHead will automatically recalculate them without you having to purge the machine data & reimport. (It can take a while if you've got loads of data and a slow PC)
Where to get the goodies?
Windows users may grab it here, with new installer goodness.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyh ... e/download

Mac users must have my appologies. Jimbo prepared several builds today, and each time I managed to find something else that needed fixing right afterwards.
I'm sure he'll get around to it tomorrow after some Zzzz's.. Maybe test out the installer from the technically unofficial 0.9.0 version.. (if it doesn't break)

Bugs?
Very likely still has bugs.. I've smashed a lot of them, but a lot of new features snuck in.. Please report any to sourceforge..
Please I don't want to see any bugs reported for versions older than 0.9.1.

Well, have fun!

/Mark

Does that mean the 9.1 ver. I am looking for is no longer there?

I messed up by copying an old broken build into the installer..

I'm rebuilding the installer and reuploading..

well, I will have to do just that when I get home from work. I haven't been using it that long and I'm not even sure I know what I'm doing with it but I learn a little bit more each day. I'd post my results here and let you guys summarize it but I think I'd be on informational overload. I really think I need to get a copy of the study from November. This doc, unlike the first study, sat down and explained all the upsetting numbers!!! There was so much info though that my then, sleep deprived brain didn't retain the info except what frightened me the most for some reason, your oxygen drops to 80%. I told somebody, at my age, I need all the oxygen my brain can get.

Ugh.. my snafu.. I packaged an older broken binary in the installer by accident.. The last build I did was Debug, so went into a different directory..

I uploaded a fresh, hopefully less broken version (same link above should work)

That's great news Mark. I downloaded but my AHI was 0.0 this AM so I guess I'll wait till tomorrow when I have something to look at!

Mark, Here's a Suggestion on the initial page of statistics...

Could you breakout under AHI, what types? I have few if any OA, they are 75% CA and 25% Hyponeas...

Just a thought

Mark - a HUGE and hearty round of applause for everything you've done! Congratulations & Bravo!
“Ignorance” is not pejorative; it is simply a lack of information. “Stupidity” is an inability to utilize available information.

Beautifully done! Installed with no problems! Should I hold on to the old version for awhile or can I delete it now?

I have also just installed the new Beta version. Works like a charm. I have information from 4 different machines available in one source now under one user name. I see no need to keep the prior version myself.

PR S1 APAP data in place, PR S1 BiPap Pro data in place, PR S1 BiPap Auto (both modes used) in place and finally the trial with the ResVed VPAP in all three modes...All data under one user name. How cool is that?

My only mess up was messing with the SD card when I tried the BiPap Pro.. My fault. Thought I needed to remove the PR S1 APAP data before using the BiPap Pro last Oct so I have lost the daily details for last summer but I still have AHI for those dates because the machine saved them for me. Doesn't really hurt anything. The daily details from last summer on APAP are in Encore Pro.

Right now I'm using the S9Autoset, so if I switch back to the PRS1Auto I should have no problem importing the data? Did you have to do any fancy stuff to make it happen?

How do you get old data imported to the new version? Will the new version, download my SD card like it is the first time?
