CPAPtalk House Keeping Bug Report Thread

Post by johnnygoodman » Mon Jan 26, 2009 5:10 pm

Howdy All,

We are pushing some minor updates and bug fixes into CPAPtalk tonight. The most visible part of tonights upgrade will be a 5-10 minute outage of our live chat. If you are having problems with our updated live chat, please clear your cache and delete any temporary internet files as a first step. The flash chats "font memory" was reset with this update, because there was no tool to push it forward. If you set it once more when you log in, it'll be remembered.

The rest of the upgrade deals with tweaking and improving the software to support our next product challenge.

If you see funkiness not related to those two areas, please post to this thread. I don't expect much ground to shake with this one.

Johnny

I had lots of prob too. Had to clear the cache like the man says
Even then its real funky. Everytime you press a key a noise is generated. Drove most everyone out so far.

I think the weirdest thing is the chat. Every keystroke is a weird game-playing sound, and when one types any word beginning with "b" and ending with "h", such as both or beach...the chat prints b***h. Meanwhile, a true swear word gets right through the filter and is printed. What a hoot!

Karen,

I was told you have to delete your flash cookies. I haven't been able to find them, but they have something to do with Adobe.

This is where I was told they would be:

http://www.macromedia.com/support/docum ... ger06.html

go about half way down and find the icon Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager

delete all the sites

then you can go to the second icon menu on top and change the cache size if you wish

this fills up fast --- do this delete cookies every so often

note: in firefox this icon loaded right att he top - in IE for me the icon was half way down the page

Howdy,

So, this is the last time I test a flash application with my mute button on. I've put in a ticket for the Q-Bert noises to be destroyed with Tron like efficiency.

In the meantime, inside flashchat you can go to Options -> Sounds -> Mute All. When we've got the sounds defaulted off, I'll update the ticket.

On the cache stuff: clear, delete, close your browser, boot, shake your computer, jump on your head and curse the flash design gods. I've got no advice past that.

Johnny, and maybe more importantly, Trinh:

As of this morning, NONE of the mute functions will mute those gaming sounds with each keystroke on chat. This was true last night, too.

The only thing that mutes that sound is the muting somehow of one's own speakers/computer.

And, as for the headstands and jumping, ImageYOU can do that...but I've got a new laptop that I'm trying to break in while allowing my desktop that is 7 years old to limp along. However, any deleting of cookies, caches, cakes, niches (and, I assume, even bashing with a baseball bat) does nothing for my problems.

I remain on live chat, sincerely yours, as:

b***s hell

Yep, really.

EVEN this morning.

Y'know, I used to come here for CPAP information but now...not so much. I come for the FUN and the FUNNY!!!

Karen,
Currently experiencing (improved?) humor from using my APAP
(Thanks for the ResMed sale, Johnny. I hope you won't regret it.)

in chat all words that have b...h in them came as b***h

bath was b***h

brother was b***h er

so birdshell would have been b***h ell

also on private messages they no longer pop up - you have be looking on the right side of the person you are pming with and see the flashing icon - rather a nuisance

in private messages, the first character you type does not show up

speakers OFF works wonders - always chat that way --- solves a lot of the issues

old flash chat cookies (for site cpaptalk) don't carry over on the new chat - you have to start over if you were a chatter who liked your settings

posting URL's gets truncated - and also after I posted the first one, everything in chat was underlined for the rest of the night

Johnny... I do know by experience that upgrading software is not always an easy task.

The people that give you support with this upgrade still working in the multiples problems reported?....
Do they have a due date to fix everything?....

since yesterday nothing has been fixed according to the several test that some of us have been doing.... seems that nobody is looking or taking care of those issues.

The chat is a good tool but by now is totally frustrating for many... we will all appreciate your effort in have this issues solved as soon as you can, and if you need our help or feedback to test the fixes please let us know.
