I found this kinda strange.

Chat translates this -
http://www.wfsb.com/wxmap/4290937/detail.html

into this -
http://www.wfs b***h tml

Even tho it has no b-words in it.

Johnny we are rootin for ya.

Ask for your money back

Johnny.... if you are reading.... regarding to Gumby and Jules post about the words been replaced....

Tell your Support Guys to
Eliminate this rule 'b***h' => 'b***h', from the "BAD WORD" File..

this rule is catching all words beginning with "b" and ending with "h" as s badword

doesn't have to end with h - brother becomes b***h er - there is a space after the h and then the rest of the expression - see gumby's example above -- and my examples on page 1 of this thread

birdshell is b***h ell

breathe last night for thedreamer was b***h e

and beach = bath = bitch all are b***h - and here we were trying to stay clean by having a bath - oh, well - stinky and sweaty to chat we will go -

I wanted to ask about the "bookmark" thingy on the forum home page too. I never saw any words to say what, why, or wherefore, it just appeared then people started having troubles. For all we know it could generate more spyware.

okay - Gumby claims he is in chat. He isn't on my list on the forum main page however.

He posts in chat and I can't see him.

His chat log -

[cpaptalk.com: Live CPAP Chat and Support]: KDS has entered at 8:54 pm
[Gumby] 8:54 pm: I always slept good when camping
[Gumby] 8:54 pm: hey kds
[Georgio] 8:54 pm: I thought I was getting old and that was why sleeping on the ground hurt so
much.....but it was the apnea
[Jeeper] 8:54 pm: hey kds

Mine for same time period -

[cpaptalk.com: Live CPAP Chat and Support]: KDS has
entered at 5:54 pm
[Georgio] 5:54 pm: I thought I was getting old and that
was why sleeping on the ground hurt so much.....but it was
the apnea
[Jeeper] 5:54 pm: hey kds

Gumby is on eastern time, I am on pacific so that is why the 3 hour difference.

It's time to that this failure off the site and put the old flash chat 4 back on it.

We can work around all the other issues - noise - turn speakers off - the b...h - stop using words with b and h in them or put in breaks

BUT THIS IS STOPPING NEWBIES FROM GETTING HELP IF WE CAN'T SEE THEY ARE THERE.

We are pushing some minor updates and bug fixes into CPAPtalk tonight. The most visible part of tonights upgrade will be a 5-10 minute outage of our live chat. If you are having problems with our updated live chat, please clear your cache and delete any temporary internet files as a first step. The flash chats "font memory" was reset with this update, because there was no tool to push it forward. If you set it once more when you log in, it'll be remembered.

The rest of the upgrade deals with tweaking and improving the software to support our next product challenge.

If you see funkiness not related to those two areas, please post to this thread. I don't expect much ground to shake with this one.

Johnny
Johnny: Please as your IT people to look for information about hacking in the FlashChat Support Forum, there are some reported hacking issues that could be part of the multiples problems that the chat has been experiencing.

The bookmark is a set of tool where if a post is interesting and you are familiar with a few of the social network websites out there then you can link the post up with that site as a bookmark. This service is provided by http://www.addthis.com/ and being used by many websites and because it has becomed famous Chris decided to add it. Example: Digg is a website about a good article. If you go to http://digg.com/ you will see how many people tag that one url becase they think it is informative, interesting, cool, etc..

FYI, the bookmark is a set of javascript tools that take you allow to bookmark that url on the listed websites. It does not install anything on your computer.
I have completed these fixeds..
1) Fixed words censoring..
2) Disable sounds.

Regarding not being able to see another user, it is possible you might have ignore the user by accident. I will disable this feature to see if this is the case and I think we're all mature enough not to annoy other users that would lead me to turn this feature back on as we're all here to help each other out.

Well try out the new chat again and let me know what else i can do for you.

Howdy All,

First, that is a wild icon Trinh has.

Second, Mikosiko can you provide specific links to the security issues you reference?

Third, Trinh's assigned to monitor this thread and make you happy. Please give us another try and report annoyances.

FlashChat, like other software, has to be upgraded over time. There are always speedbumps with this process. Usually, we can smooth them, here, we missed a few big potholes. I'm committed to making the new version of FlashChat work as we all want it to, but we won't be moving back to the old one.

regarding a suggestion that I have gumby on ignore in chat, - nope -

if this is like the old chat (and I haven't checked that), ignore only works of private messages - blocks them

also last night neither Slinky and Karen (Shell, bird) could see Gumby either

you can check ignores in flash chat by /showignores - shows who you are ignoring and who is ignoring you

When I had my pointer hovering over the chat link...it didn't show Gumby in chat...and I didn't see Gumby when I went in there...but I was asked if I could see Gumby and some of the conversation seemed directed as if there was a Gumby in chat
