There is an option to "Delete all board cookies" at the very bottom of each forum page, RH side.

Not sure if it will or won't help.

I got that socket server connection error msg several times too.

ASSHOLES IN CHAT HERE

I tried out chat and found it to be full of the same controlling assholes every time. Some bitch named Jules tries to control everything and has chronies like a GumbyCT and others. I always try to go in there when they aren't there but they are ALWAYS there and use different names sometimes. Get a life losers and do something else some night so we can use chat for what it is for. I searched some posts and found out that Jules is a real whack job so no wonder she is in chat. I think the regulars are sitting on their nutty asses at home drawing government checks for all the conditions they have so they have nothing better to do than be bullies on chat rooms. ASSHOLES... JULES IS A CONTROLLING NUTCASE BITCH.

johnnygoodman wrote:Howdy,

Sorry for the trouble. I've got some questions to help us narrow this down:

Do websites like youtube.com load for you? (I'm wondering if flash is installed)

Do you have a pop up blocker preventing cpaptalk from opening a new window or tab? (if so, that would explain the lack of login screen)

What operating system (windows 98, windows xp, windows vista, mac leopard, ubuntu, etc) do you have?

What web browser (firefox, internet explorer 6, internet explorer 7, safari) are you using?

Thanks,
Johnny
Hi, I am unable to log into chat. I get the chat box to open and the login to come up but when I type in my handle and password it doesn't load and I get the message socket server connection failed.
I can load youtube.com
popup blocker is set to off
Windows XP pro and I was able to chat from this computer before
Windows explorer 6.0

XP-Pro/ SP2
No issues with other apps.

Server Socket Error at login. Took waaaaaayyyyy too long for login pop-up to appear. Something's crunching those bits for too long....

Don't use chat that often, so it's no bother for me.......When it's there, cool. When it's not, oh well.....

cheers

edit to add: FF3 as browser, cookies etc. taken care of.

Wars arise from a failure to understand one another's humanness. Instead of summit meetings, why not have families meet for a picnic and get to know each other while the children play together?

the flash cookies worked for me - and then this idea

[mikosiko] 4:50 pm: tell her that if she is not getting the
login screen that while in that "blank" screen hit refresh in
the browser

but there are ppl who can't get in - heard from birdshell and amos - strange
