Dang, I was getting ready to buy an M series Pro just so I could use this software. Guess I will go with the Puritan Bennett Goodknight instead. Respironics might be shooting themselves in the foot with this move...

In my opinion, the only item the user should not tinker with is with the Encore Pro Smartc Card Prescription feature.

If we want to mae changes to our range of pressure - just use the CPAP clinician's menu

The data is very useful in analyzing your progerss and the impact of a new mask

I have problem with masks and am still finding tha right mask (the right size of pillow etc) and it take time and the ability to get the data analyzed is very useful, otherwise I have to call my clinician twie a week just to check what works and what is not working

Looks to me like the 1.6i version is still/again available.
If you don't have Vista, you should still be OK.

This is Encore Pro v1.6i. It does not work with Windows Vista. It is older than Encore Pro v1.8i but that is no longer available from Respironics.

So, who will be left with no place to sit when the music stops?

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

LOL. My prediction (only slightly off-topic) is that Microsoft Corporation will be the big loser when the dust settles. With Vista, they've created an operating system which breaks existing software packages, added Digital-Rights-Management so that numerous existing CD's, DVD's will not play, but added no real functionality improvements (according to press reports).

And, it also turns out that only the pricey Vista-professional version will be licensed for and compatible with running in virtual machines.

Vista? Why bother?

Regards,
Bill

ARGH! I should have ordered it last week, but I was waiting to see if I could adjust to this machine. And I have! I am buying the 1.6 but am not happy about the whole business.

Medicine seems to moving towards more patient empowerment/accountability, not less. This is a huge step backwards My compliance around diabetes management increased when I got control of my data and could manipulate/analyse it and tailor it to my needs. I am sure it will be the same for sleep apnea.

Glad I got mine last Friday from cpap, com. What I have learned in 4 nights is remarkable. I had been leaning towards self monitoring for some time and I'm now sure glad I did. Already have seen progress and I know it will get better now that I have the data.

Hope Respironics comes to their senses.

Wow... I just got my Encore Pro Data Management software from CPAP.COM in the mail today. I ordered it on 4/26/07 (for $183 with the Mako Infineer DT3500 smart card reader).

It installed as Program Version 1.8.49, and Database Version 13.4. If you manage to get an order in with Respironics, they labeled it "Reorder #1009583".

The cover has a white sticker saying "Compatible with Windows Vista".

So there you go... it's not a Vista issue.

I know version 1.6 says it works with M series but did not the cpap site before they pulled the plug say 1.6i does not work with auto M series?
I have mine 1.8i but thought I might pass that along if I am wrong plenty will say so on the forum but sure thought 1.6 did not work with auto m series??

So far (knock on wood) v1.6 hasn't dropped any days on me. And I do have an M series auto. I thought I was getting 1.8 but for a lousy savings of $5 ordered it from cpap-supply.com and got 1.6

It was on "sale" there for 90. cpap.com had it for 95. So much for saving a couple bucks.

I can't believe what cpap-supply is selling it for now. Ridiculous! Guess that's demand and supply. Can you say "Tickle me Elmo" or Xbox 360?

Linda

I'm wondering if CPAP.COM would "meet or beat" the competitors' prices on these items. Supposedly they will on other items.

I'd like to see how its possible to develop new software and be %100 compatible forever. Microsoft has done a pretty good job over the decades with backwards compatibility, IMHO. When it come to improving security etc sometimes you have to change things.

Huh? What CD or DVD will not play on Vista?
NightHawkeye wrote:but added no real functionality improvements
There is a ton of small improvements in vista. Taken as a whole its pretty huge.

All versions will run in virtual machines, its purely a lisence issue.
