Do a right-click on the software in your profile and see what it says in the product description:

"Part Number 1009583: Sorry, real time inventory is not currently available for this product but will be shortly."

I'm going to take Johnny at his word.
If the big issue is the fact that a person can program their machine through the software, it wouldn't take much to pull that part of it from the code.

dunno looks like it is gone. I know it pulls the inventory when you do the click on the software icon on your profile but go to the site as he says click software and reders not listed at all just the readers.

Man I beat that by 2 weeks or so. Another site that I almost bought from also shows there listing as "No linger will be stocked" appears Respironics might of won the first round..

Tank owners will be Ok for years as they don't need weekly upgrades that don't fix the problems. Jim

It's the way with the big wigs in the world, maybe ResMed and Remstar, have the same people on both board of director, if they don't have the same people, they have the same level of intelligence.

Den,

If you drop down to the product description, you get this:

"This is Encore Pro v1.6. It does not work with Windows Vista.
It is older than Encore Pro v1.8 but that is no longer available from Respironics."

The last sentence, unless it is incorrectly worded sort of says 1.8 is no longer available from respironics.

Could just be the way I am interpreting things...

Later,

Marc

WOW!

I just got mine delivered on Monday.

If they did force them to pull it, then you can bet it will be on BitTorrent before long . All they are doing is punishing those who wish to be honest and creating software pirates.

Morons...

Yup yup. Just wait until they start releasing press releases about how much it's "costing" them. I certainly hope they don't, but if they do they'll lose a lot of respect in my eyes.

if they do pull it, it could be 'cuz it's buggy - at least on Vista. It's barely ready for Vista. and I suspect the card reader driver is not optimized - first, since it is dated Mar-03, which is well before most of the hooks and apis for Vista were done. My suspicion is they found a driver that works some of the time... with all the reports of problems on this site, I suspect apps compatability testing (as in, on Vista) was not really done.

Although $99 bucks for a copy of SQL, well w/o any dev tools, is kinda a bargain...

I can't get the damn thing to read the smart card... numerous (changing) error codes, and now my card appears garbled. Not a good user experience.

FYI-

I found that the software is still available on cpap-supply.com. It is the only site I've been able to find it on so far....For those who don't have, but want, maybe time to get before it's all gone.

Its just the MSDE (Microsoft SQL Desktop Engine), anyone can download that from Microsoft for free. You can also get SQL Server 2005 Express for free from Microsoft.

I think they are shooting themselves in the foot (Respironics). When they make things unavailable the grey market becomes very active ie, bit torrent links, rapidshare links..etc.

Companies lose revenue and the public gets what they want in the end anyways!

Whew....I guess I barely got in. My DME gave the card reader and software Monday. The software is pretty nice, played around with it for the first time last night. One thing I don't like is loading SQL server at each boot.....which is easily fixed by removing the startup entry. I just launch it right before I use the program, no need to have it sucking up resources at every boot.

It's absolutely asinine not to sell the software to users. It's easy as hell to change anything in the machine without the software. The software is mainly usable for monitoring your therapy. What a bunch of idiots.

I just got mine last week, thank goodness.
