Via your IP address.

Dial up services like AOL maintain a large pool and frequently rotate them. Broadband services sometimes have a static IP, or if it is dynamic, doesn't change nearly as often.
The forum sets a "cookie" on your computer to identify you when you return.

Using the IP address would not work with dial up Internet users as they get a new IP address each time they dial up.

Both versions are very similar. If you have one of the new AFlex machines, however, they say you need 1.8.
Thank Kevin;
It doesn't seem worth the $$$ to upgrade -- Was looking for other software that might read the cards....... First I'll get a replacement card to play with

As a BACKUP I output all the data from Encore Pro as .XML then transfer it to other computers and backup system.....

Is Version 1.8i Available Anywhere?

Post by ToddT » Sat May 26, 2007 2:13 pm

I'm bumping this topic to see if anyone knows where Encore Pro version 1.8i can be purchased. I am a happy user of version 1.6i and jskinner's wonderful Encore Pro Analyzer, but I will probably need to upgrade my computer to Vista in the fall for work reasons.

It may be available here (no version number indicated, however, and I don't know anything about this retailer):
http://www.cpap-supply.com/Encore-Pro-S ... 009583.htm

I also see that version 1.8i was listed a few times on eBay, though there are no current auctions for it at the moment.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

You may have to resort to the "Australian connection", as ResMed owners have had to. A search of Google Australia for Respironics Encore Pro turns up at least one vendor who claims to have version 1.8. Not as many as carry the ResMed software, but Respironics is a USA company.

Mirage Swift nasal pillow system
Autoscan 5.7 software

Thanks for the tip - I would have never thought to have searched Australian shops (though I have a heated CPAP hose that I bought from an Australian company a couple of years ago).

What am I missing?

Post by jabberwock » Sat May 26, 2007 5:54 pm

When I go to the DME site posted by mth712 for the EncorePro software & card reader, I can't find it. Is it gone or am I just not seeing it??

Yes, we do. But we need to proceed intelligently.

Giggle. Hey, Bert. We have the EXACT SAME opinion of Wright & Filippis!! And you are correct, because of my experience w/Wright & Filippis 8-10 years ago I went all this while w/o xPAP when I should have been on it. My daughter even changed insurances because of the LOUSY prosthetic service for her daughter. AND Wright & Filippis have NOT IMPROVED one bit in the last 8-10 years. They are just as bad now as then!!!!!

My 1.8 works fine with vista.

I am having a bit of a problem adapting to vista.
Lots I have not learned.

I DO NOT like it that MS did not include their games package-
MS HEARTS, SOLITAIRE, SPIDER SOLITAIRE,

cannot figure how to get them - cannot find them as download.

1.8 works fine for me in vista as well, with the exception that I have to remove the reader from the device manager and let it find it again every time I want to upload date... but I think that might be a resource conflict with my mouse, plus it's only a minor inconveniance.

Which version of vista do you have? I've got home premium, and It came with all those games plus chess, mahjong, purble palace (kids game... but I admit to having played it for at least an hour once) and some wierd bouncing ball game that can waste time if you're not careful.

I just got the "Vista basic upgrade". Won't install it until I start having problems with XP.
It won't be long before microsoft announces that they will no longer support XP. Then everyone will be scurrying around to buy Vista. LOL
I just want to go back to sleep!

Hi! The games are there. I went throught the same thing. You have to go in (maybe through control panel) and check off a block to activate them. DUMB We got Vista about 2 weeks ago and I was pretty miffed. I read that we were supposed to have the games and I was all set to go give the store heck. I think you can find the information through Help. (I'm not at my own computer right now so I can't verify.) I'll warn you, Solitaire is meaner.
