I use the P10 and have had problems with the split strap repositioning during the night, losing fit and causing big leaks.

To mitigate this, I wear a close-fitting knit cap as a nightcap at night. (Keeps my balding head from the draft, too.) The cap really decreases the repositioning of the straps as I toss and turn during the night.

This is an option for some people but not a particularly nice option if someone doesn't like more stuff on their head.
Like for some people it would just annoy a person or maybe they would get too hot with wearing it or they don't want their hair being all squished down flat in the mornings.

I hate, hate, hate anything on my head....even the minimal P10 headgear is a bit annoying. No way in hell would I want to wear anything over my entire head. Simply is not going to happen.
For that reason I use a mask that doesn't have ANY headgear to mess with. Suits my needs...doesn't mess up my hair or leave strap dent marks on my cheeks or cause bags under my eyes.

Everything...and I mean everything....related to cpap use or masks or whatever comes with a huge YMMV sticker.

Sorry. I hear you. All of this is really affected by personal preference to get comfortable enough to fall asleep. I wish the therapists, DMEs, and manufacturers were more tuned into this.

I hear you and my wishes mirror yours.
People always have options but sometimes they aren't very attractive options....but they do have options. It is what it is...I don't waste time or precious energy on stuff I have no control over.

whelp, got this yesterday and tried it last night.

it was horrible. my ahi went up 2 points. i was filled with gas. i had insominia.

okay, okay, none of that happened. took me a bit to figure out how to get it onto my p10 mask. but i have trouble with escalators and revolving doors too so that doesn't say much. i was kind of concerned about the clip or buckle or whatever the hell one calls that. i thought it might be uncomfortable to lie on.

turns out that wasn't a problem. nor was the extra portion of the strap dangling. i made sure that i switched out the strap earlier in the day so that i wouldn't be fiddling with it at bedtime and disrupting my routine. so i just slid into it and went to sleep. easy peasy as they say in the uk. turned over and went to sleep.

i don't know at this point whether i like it any better than the p10 strap. but i'm pushing three years with the p10 and the original band. i don't have any trouble shrinking the band up via a good washing/drying, but i expect that it will reach "end of life" pretty soon. good to know i have this to hand.

i'll go back to the p10 band tonight and save this one against the inevitable "death" of the original.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

I finally broke down and had my hair PERMED;
as this seems to be the most effective way to make the @#$%& mask stay in place all night.
And I still have to wash the frilling headgear--because it gets so grubby.

Thankfully, yes; quite a bit better.
Better still, because the stylist did not over-tighten the rollers, as some do.

Zonker, I didn't notice any "improvement" in sleep either. I thought the fabric of the N30 headgear felt nicer against my cheek, but not so much it mattered. Honestly I could use a little longer strap length! I have no excess strap sticking out of the buckle. Still have to separate the straps like you do on the P10 headgear, only slightly less. Which is good. If it stretches out some more, that would be perfect!

Again, not a significant upgrade on average. If I were one that had trouble with the P10 strap being too loose, then it WOULD be a significant upgrade.

Overall I would use it every time over the P10 headgear.

yup. this is why we don't all wear the same mask. we are each different in what we need on our noggins.

i went back to the p10 straps last night. like i said, i'll just hold on to this replacement until my original strap no longer bounces back, then switch to this.

We haven't had the penny since 2012.

We now have to pinch nickels until the beaver screams.
