Re: zonker's crib--somewhere over the rainbow
well, this is kind of embarrassing. my dry mouth has pretty much nothing to do with humidity. i've got that where i need it now. and my temp for the heated hose seems good as well.
no, instead is was my scunci rig. here i am, shooting off my mouth to all and sundry about how well i do with it. and typically, i do. but i found out that i didn't have things arranged just right.
part of my rig is a wee bit of cloth i use as a drool stopper. this is right against my lips and i pull the scuncis over this. it a wee cloth that one gets for cleaning eyeglasses. if you are a long time glasses wearer, your familiar with how this things can pile up. well, if you are a cheap b*stard like me, i guess!
the other night, my dry mouth hit me worse than ever. the next morning, i looked closely at my setup. no the bands weren't too stretched out. but looking more closely, a corner of said cloth was folded back against itelf, causing just enough space for air to get it.
i switched last night to a folded up kleenex. it covered my mouth fully and didn't allow any air in and out at the mouth.
voila! (wa-la as some would have you believe.) no dry mouth. and my graph is back next to no leak marks as well.
i feel so stupid that i didn't think of that but i'm so glad i eventually figured out.

Remember to avoid the lotion-impregnated Kleenex.
They will gunk up your lenses.
(Though they might be nice under a mask)

yeah, i've always found those to be a bit silly. seems lotion could be applied separately.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2019 11:44 amRemember to avoid the lotion-impregnated Kleenex.

but hey, that's just me.
i've got to go back through my lens cleaning cloths. the kleenex only works for one night.

Just one more step when you're feeling miserable and trying to breathe, and squinting through puffy eyes... they're quite nice when sick, and your nose would be screaming in pain otherwise because it's raw... they do help.zonker wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2019 11:57 amyeah, i've always found those to be a bit silly. seems lotion could be applied separately.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2019 11:44 amRemember to avoid the lotion-impregnated Kleenex.
