Bad baby needs to work on leak control. I will let a little large leak slide as long as I slept through it but if I saw this much leak consistently night after night...I would be trying to figure out where it is coming from and fix it. That's a little more than I would want to see on a nightly basis...sleeping through it or not.
Have you actually ever taped your mouth shut (and have the tape stay put) so that you know for sure where the leaks are coming from...mouth or mask movement?

So good to have the assistance of cpap users with so much experience on
hand to offer such helpful advice.
thank you so much
Keep working on the mask fit, AHIwise, you're getting there.

A mask liner might help with the leaks.

Pugsy and Palerider,
I just started using the P10 nasal pillows and i didn't notice the leaks while pushing out Z's.
I will close the part at the back more to see if that helps. Other than that, the old snoz has
been blocking up a bit lately so I'll try spraying a shot of salt and bicarb soda with water
before bed.
thanks BAD BABY. (smoke rings and all)

If your using the P10 nasal pillows maybe your letting air out of your mouth and need a chinstrap or other contraption to encourage you to only breath through your nose

If those leaks didn't wake you up (no matter where they came from)...if it was my report I would let them slide. Shrug my shoulders and move on.
People always seem to assume that all leaking is from the mouth when people are using nasal masks but that's not necessarily true.
There's always the chance of mask movement leaks as well.
Been down that road myself...I was trying a new mask and had a large amount of large leak that I slept through so I didn't know where it was coming from. I decided to tape my mouth shut just to see if it reduced the leak or not. Surprisingly it didn't reduce the large leak at all....so all the big leak was from mask movement.

Sleepy head nasal dilators and masks?

Post by Marcusstephen » Mon Feb 25, 2019 5:39 pm

I am pretty sure the SNOZ is the problem.
Are there any nasal dilators that work with nasal pillows?
Guess I could go back to the wisp. Anyone had any experience with nasal dilators?

Look at the Bleep/DreamPort new mask....very soon to be released. That sucker won't move when applied properly and the more direct stream of air up the nose might just help you out.

Tks Pugsy I'll look into it.
In the meantime I've ordered a nasal dilator to see if it helps

Ive just ordered the Woodyknows, model.
Ill let you know how it goes.
I just need the airway to stay open so I can continue using the nasal cpap masks.

I'd say that the mask leaks are the main priority.
