would like to get my AHI a little closer to 1 than to 2. looks like i'm getting there.

what do you think?
Keep sneaking that pressure up... slowly.
Zonker - I stepped up at 0.4 per week. I couldn't even notice the difference when I made the changes. Last change was 0.8, which was noticeable to me. You could do 0.2 per week if you want. But I'll warn you up front- you risk PR stomping his virtual feet at you. :)

I've gotta tell you, the flow limitation graph in the "for her" mode freaks me out. Pugsy has explained that it's wrong, but still...

It's not wrong but we just can't compare the For Her Mode Flow Limitation graph to the Regular mode FL graph.
Different algorithms so they aren't going to be equal to each other.
They are called the same thing but it's still comparing apples and oranges because the algorithms that use the FLs aren't the same.

right. slow and steady wins the race!

just bumped it to 7.2 and will see how it goes.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

not even bothered about flow limitations. or much else. i try not to worry my wee noggin about things that i have NO hope of understanding!

i'll see what happens with me at 7.2 tonight. i may keep it that way for a bit. i know that one night doesn't really do anything. have to have enough to actually show a trend.

And I'm very certain that you didn't say it was "wrong" in the post where you explained as best you could what was going on. That was my mental extrapolation of what you said and I shouldn't have associated it with you. My apologies for that.

I do however, feel that it's wrong if it doesn't represent the true magnitude and duration of the FL.

Here's a question... what does the FL graph look like in *resscan* between the two? could be a bug in SH.

Nah, he's doing good, he just wants to fine tune things, and that's when even *I* say... take it slow :D

But it does represent the magnitude and duration of the flow limitations IN THE FOR HER MODE. For that mode that is what it sees and works with for whatever reason ResMed decided to do the FL sensing and recording and responding in THAT mode.

Maybe think of it this way.....if one of the other brands showed a different picture of the FL graph what would you say about the difference? We would chalk it up to a difference in brands....with the for Her mode it's really no different than if it was a different brand because it's a different algorithm even though it is the same brand.
It might as well be a different brand in terms of how it senses, reports, responds or whatever. It's a different algorithm.

I know we are used to seeing the FL graph from the regular mode and we want to compare it apples to apples to the for her FL graph but we can't do that because things are just different. We are told a little bit about how it differs but I am betting there's more subtle difference that we weren't told about.

We are going to have to stop the knee jerk reaction of "OMG your FL graph looks awful" because maybe it isn't all that awful for that mode. I am betting that zonker's FL graph in the regular mode is still fairly active but if he is sleeping good and feeling good and the machine isn't pegging itself out trying to kill the FLs...who cares.

Give me a little bit to fire up ResScan and see if I can find a fairly active FL graph to compare with.
Most of my FL graphs are boring as all get out.

i'm slightly jealous of anyone with a good memory. mine has always been porous and old age isn't doing it any good.
I tell people that my hard drive works well, but my RAM is messed up. I can remember product codes very well. People often ask me for codes because it is faster than looking them up. I have a great built-in database.

But where I put my gloves down less than 5 minutes ago? Not a clue. Happened again last night. A coworker asked for a band aid while I was cleaning. I went into the closet, put down my gloves, and could not find a bandaid in the first aid kit. So, I went to another location and got a bandaid. A few minutes later, I wanted to start cleaning again, and I could not find my gloves. Somebody else finally went ito the closet for something else and found my gloves. I had completely forgotten that I had even gone in there.

I guess I was hoping for someone who's done both modes, and seen the differences in SH over a few nights, and then see what that data looked like in resscan.. whether the 'activity' looked more pronounced in 'for her' mode, or if they looked similar.

Probably have to get someone to send data to you, if you're willing.

I have done both modes but only used the regular mode for a couple of nights a little over a year ago.
I am not a good one to be comparing FL graphs though because I normally don't have much at all to look at.
This one below...actually fairly busy for me.

And as we know we don't sleep the same each night but here's a SH report from regular mode.
No matter which software I use or which mode there's always some variance night to night so it's really hard to compare one mode to another like this.

What it looks like to me is that getting the height of the FL graphs on SH consistent with Resscan isn't something that Mark has put any work into.

My working theory at the moment is that the differing FL heights between regular and for her mode are mainly a data interpretation issue with SH.

I wonder if the regular ones are 'broken' in SH, and the ones we always thought were crazy (asv) are actually closer to how resscan would show them.

When I was using Respironics equipment I rarely had any flagged FLs so that's one reason I always just shrugged my shoulders when I saw those wild FL graphs (no matter which software) that I got with the Adapt. I know they were different brands but the Adapt FL graph was so ugly that I just couldn't ever believe it was real. I don't have nasal congestion and I don't have the machine doing wild crazy stuff chasing FLs...so I pretty much don't think my FLs have ever been one of my issues.
But given that we see more people where the FL graph is obviously so much worse than mine would ever be then those are the people we need to maybe try to get a comparison of....like the woman the other day...with such and ugly for her mode FL graph and when she used regular mode it was still ugly but markedly less ugly....but of course different nights so maybe normal nightly variance also.

I still say that if a person is sleeping good and feeling good then I don't know that I would go killing FLs with more pressure when everything else looks great. We might be snipe hunting.
