I'm relatively new here and I feel welcomed and part of the family already. I understand that regulations should be respected but when something that could help out people struggling with cpap therapy is intentionally banned from being public knowledge it makes me sad and pessimist as a human being. I see the FBI type of banning procedure against cpap and apap owners trying to prevent them from understanding how the machine they sleep with actually works really disgusting to say the least. This all patronizing posture of some clinician and sleep technicians is >the way I see it< some sort of "way to retain power" over the patients. Power is Money in this business and treating the clinician manual of PAP machines as "SECRET FILES" only makes them ridiculously desperate and unworthy of my trust.
zoocrewphoto wrote:I've never posted on that board. Not sure if I have been to that one or not. I do participate on two email lists. One is similar to what you mentioned. I tried to post a link to get a clincian's manual, and I was told my post was deleted because it is not allowed. Anything that can help a person change settings or read data is not allowed. Well dang, how does that help anybody. I never start a topic there as it would be pointless. But I haven't left as I feel like the people there are getting no help. So, I reply privately and invite them to come here.

I am very grateful for the help I have gotten here. I want everybody else to get great help as well. CPAP is so important, yet hard to be successful with the current level of help from doctors and DMEs. We *need* help from people who have been there, done that.

49er got moderated (not banned, just a post moderated) for not "keeping on topic"! Can you imagine that here?!

My husband made some chicken with a bunch of different mushroom medley tonight and it did not go over well with the kids.

When I was a kid in New York I got to meet Jimmy Dodd.
First cpaptalker to guess what he's famous for takes the prize.
But be careful -- if you guess wrong your post will be moderated severely.

This is an "open book" test, right?

no, 49er got BANNED, not just moderated. Very dysfunctional board.

And I just had a big salad with fresh veggies from the garden. YUM. I don't recommend you do this without consulting a dietician first.

Next category: Good Samaritan laws;
For the $200 question: does there have to be an immediate "emergency" for them to apply?
In other words, if you know that the untreated condition is eventually deadly, how can we not try to help?
Apparently the self-serving "forums" are putting some ugly stuff "on the wheel";
As long as said wheel is turning, I'd be worried about my soul.

Even "cheating" (consulting Wikipedia and the Internet Movie Data Base) didn't seem to produce anything that might put him in the "famous" category. He had a fairly lengthy film and music career before taking the job on the "Mouse Club" show.

Along the same controversial lines of home sleep testing: I've had three sleep studies in the last several years. My initial one was at home in my own comfy bed and provided some meaningful quantifiable data on my natural sleep patterns. The other two tests took place in real sleep labs and were, IMO, bogus because I had to dope myself up with drugs just to get 4-5 hours sleep, what with the dozens of skin-attached sensors, one abdomen strap and one chest strap. BTW, I heard on this forum that the newer home tests were beginning to implement brain wave sleep monitoring using lightweight headgear and ultrasonic breath analysis. That will be a game changer for sure. Probably could attach that to wifi and send it to a distant tech. Change is the only constant.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
