Ken,

Becky is a doll. Maybe you can speak with her. She'd have to speak to the powers-that-be, I'm sure, but she is a great place to start.

Good luck. And so nice of you to work at this for the benefit of the members here and cpap.com.

Keeping lips closed I would be interested in hearing about. Let us know if you experiment with that.

Ho ho - this stuff is water soluble so I was really kidding about the lips thing but to let you know what a sport I am I actually tried it but of course - no workie!

There is a caution to keep this stuff away from the eyes.

ok - off to work - yucch - doesn't taste so good either!

ciao,
Ken

Well, if we were repeating it I'd understand your post but we've expanded on it considerably and the history that you suggested we look at was quite negative about the possible effects and that came from a lack of information or research on the product itself.

This IS a positive thing and can be of tremendous benefit. Given the nature of the "glue" it looks like it's not damaging to the mask at all and has helped me tremendously just in the 2 nights that I've been using it.

History is great if it's pertinent but in this case it's obviously not. No sense in throwing water on a dog if he's done nothing wrong.

Looks like this could be a GREAT discovery!
This could be one of the biggest breakthroughs for CPAPers since the DIY tongue guides....and a whole lot easier to implement. Too bad it doesn't work for mouth leaks too, but mask leaks is a HUGE problem.

Anyone find a source with cheaper shipping?

I am not having mask leak problems at the moment, but this could open up mask options that I haven't tried yet, that have good features but have leaky reputations. (like maybe the Aura?)

Looks to me like this is the "source" for this product.

Anybody want to be a "dealer" for this stuff? Looks like they only sell to resellers. Maybe this is who CPAP.COM needs to contact.

"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow

I've spoken with the wife of the owner of Marine Sports Products. She's very open to discussing a "dealer" and wanted to know if I wanted to be one!

They sell through Bass Pro Shops and other large retailers so if there's one in your area you can get it through them.

I also emailed back and forth with 123scuba.com and they said that they have free shipping on orders of $75 or more (what a deal!)

As a former mail-order business I'd have a problem with sending this item out for less than $10 total. One has to stock it, pick it, package it and ship it - not to mention pay for it. Even if CPAP.COM does put it into stock they'll still have to charge shipping and even the lowest UPS package is over $3.00 and that doesn't include a box and the labor of packing it.

Well - I'm going right by a Bass Pro Shop next week so I'll stop there and see if they have it.

If the Bass Pro Shops you will be going by next week is the new one in Sevierville (exit 407 on I-40), don't bother to stop if that is all you would be stopping for. I just got off the phone with them and they don't seem to carry it. I've tried all the dive shops in the Knoxville area and Dick's Sporting Goods. All a big NO.

Well phooey! - thanks for checking. I went to the Bass Pro Shop web site and the product isn't listed there at all - in fact they have no diving equipment listed.

You're terrific for checking around K'ville. I've still not gotten a call back from CPAP.COM - maybe I'll end up ordering a bunch from the manuf and sending them out as Christmas presents.

I'm out of town for a few days (first road trip for the APAP) but once I'm back I'll see where we stand.

Thanks again,
Ken

and I just checked their website http://www.westmarine.com - they offer free ground shipping - so for now at least, this is the place to get it.

Great detective work - what a crew this list is!
