LOL -- Could be, but they also *might* be giving longer arrival estimates to protect themselves from people that would complain if their order doesn't arrive EXACTLY when estimated. There are people in the world that if the estimated arrival is between the 10th & the 15th, would start calling and complaining when it didn't arrive by the 10th.
That would be 49er trying to call them to whine.

You may think that was funny but I don't.

If you want to keep up with the sarcasm...hey, it's your choice.. but all it does is paint a picture of oneself that is not very pretty.

Pugsy I totally agree..there have been a couple of threads going this weekend that have been in the same vein. They even bashed JohnB, which set me the wrong way, but I held my tongue . John is a god on this forum and in the 2 1/2 years I have been here I have NEVER EVER heard him say an unkind word to anyone. It sounded like they had all partied too hard Friday night and were in hang over and smart ass mode the rest of the weekend and were taking it out on everyone and anyone. NOT NICE!

I am glad I didn't see that. I don't think I would have been able to hold my tongue. Picking on John Fisher? Wow.

I am sorry to tell you 49er, but when I first read your post about amazon not taking phone orders...I thought so don't buy from them..go to another on line seller.....easy peasy..don't give them your business, I certainly would not.
Exactly!

I am almost convinced, now, that ChicagoGranny is yet another ALIAS, created by "he who shall not be named" just to cause problems on this forum and watch the resulting arguing and chaos.

I wish my life was so uneventful and boring that this was the only way I could find to amuse myself.

It's hard to stay positive about human beings with this stupidity.

Yeah, I saw that about John and cringed myself.
I have made a point to stay out of this thread and that other one until this last uncalled for comment.
I also try to avoid the pissing contests (unless I am a primary contributor which we all know that I have been) because no one really ever "wins" but everyone wants the "last word". Been there, done that myself.
That sort of bickering just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I look at the forum as a family of sorts and we all know with families that we are going to often have major differences of opinions and like some families...some people handle differences of opinions better than others. I personally feel is is okay to have the difference of opinions but I don't feel it is okay to personally attack someone that happens to have an opinion that differs from say my opinion or someone else's. It's all about the wording of the difference of opinions and sometimes the wording comes across sounding much harsher than maybe the intent was...or I could be wrong...maybe there was harsh intent but knowing what I know about that person..I don't see it being meant to be pointedly harsh. Instead I think that the underlying feeling got lost in the wording and came across wrong. At least I prefer to think that.
I know it is often hard to put into words how we feel and convey our feelings. I have a hugely difficult time conveying my feelings.

I actually can see both sides of the tough love vs non tough love argument. Ever since I have been a member of this forum (and I have seen same thing on other forums) there are those that will offer the tough love thing and those that will offer the hand holding thing. It is what it is and this is what we get when we have a forum like this. While I often totally may disagree with something that someone says, I respect their right to say it. It's a free country and each of us has our own way of offering help.
Is one right more right than the other way? Maybe, maybe not. I think it is going to depend on a lot of different things and we don't have the right tools to figure out ahead of time which way might be the most appropriate way to "handle" someone.
So we each do what we do. We tend to fall in where our own nature takes us.
To fight and bicker or which way is the "right" way to help someone seems pointless waste of energy to me.
Each of us believes what we believe and fighting about it sure won't change it so why expend the energy to fight and bicker?

Anyhow, that is my own feelings about this sort of stuff. I am having a really difficult time even putting this into words that would properly convey my feelings. People are entitled to rant....it helps clear their head and sometimes that is all that is needed and with that....my rant is over.

I never found a bear to be a problem. It was always the people who could not resist feeding him.

I quite agree!

I didn't see the thread that was unkind to John... but, like Pugsy and some others here, they are the glue that holds this forum together.

Now I'm going to sit back and watch CG dig herself further and further into the ground. As for me, I'm officially out of what's become the most disgusting thread I've ever read. It really is past time to allow this thread to quietly disappear. As Boyce said, this thread will keep going if you feed the bear.
