*nod* You've gone beyond my level of knowledge.

The machine only guesses at whether apneas are obstructive or central, by trying a pressure pulse to test for obstruction. In a sleep study it would be a lot more accurate, because they can check for breathing effort (or the lack of it)

Update:

One of the state university's sleep centers has accepted my case and my consult is scheduled for the middle of May.

Average AHI is relatively steady at 12.9.
