I love there stuff, its especially useful after I have just sanitized everything to mask the smell of the sanitizer.
My wife likes the smell aswell.
I love the clear and calm, the clear really helps with congestion.

My preference is

My wife is into Lampe Berger big time. Her favorite aromatherapy oils are Charleston and New Orleans. It must be a Southern thing.
When I go to bed though, I don't want any of my senses stimulated: no sounds, no lights, no smells. I just want to sleep.

I understand and can appreciate that the Pur-Sleep folks must charge for R&D along with all the other costs of doing business to make a profit, but I can create my own unique "smells" much cheaper (NO-not that kind of smell ). Try searching Amazon (or any other favorite web retailer) for "essential oil". After trying the Pur-Sleep sampler as a guide I found I could formulate my own mixtures for much less. Most "Now Foods" oils are between $8 and $15 for 4 ounces (incl shipping). One ounce is nearly 30ml! There are a bunch of books at the library (there is still a library isn't there? ) on the subject of aromatherapy which can get you jump started on formulating your own mixes. With a little experimentation you can create your own favorites. And probably a few real "stinkers"...
... stimulated ... in the bed ... NAH-too easy!

You could try the PurSleep products or the Wyndmere products which includes essential oils and the NEW aromatherapy patches in lavender, spearmint, peppermint, and mandarin. The patches whether on the go or for use in a CPAP machine. Remove from the pouch, pull off the top tab covering to activate and adhered to the intake tube for a good nights sleep using lavender.
All oils are 100% pure and natural give the patch a try.

Only 2 posts on this forum and both promoting your link to wyndmerenaturals??? Is the only reason you registered here to promote that website so you could sneak a link in your post? Sure sounds like it from your posts which sound like the same promo ad to me.Yknotoday wrote:You could try the PurSleep products or the Wyndmere products which includes essential oils and the NEW aromatherapy patches in lavender, spearmint, peppermint, and mandarin. At $2.09 each for one of those patches to last 8 hours....you won't drum up much business here. Wayyyyyy to expensive.
If you are spamming you might as well not waste your time or ours. We will remove it. I am sorely tempted right now.....

Are you sure about this? I had asked a month or two ago in another thread (can't find it right now) about doing this using those $3 "flea market" oils / scents that are used in those burner lamps and was told that is a no-no.Pugsy wrote:Yes, those can be used as well. I have used el cheapo essential oils. Walmart or those $3 flea market little bottles. I have used those wax candle things that smell good. Unlit and just lay them beside the air intake. I am still alive.
I was referring to just about any essential oil. Doesn't have to be the PurSleep brand.
I have never thought of oils that are used in burner lamps. Not sure what you are referring to. All the lamp oil I have doesn't have enough of a scent to carry through the humidifier. It has to be a pretty concentrated scent to make it through.
I think I may have read the thread you are referring to. I think that the poster pretty much nixed any oils near the intake as being dangerous being possibly inhaled into the lungs. I remember rolling my eyes thinking that there was no way that I could think of that actual oil droplets could ride the air molecules and enter the lungs. If they could we shouldn't stand close to a scented candle and inhale the pleasant aroma or sniff whatever we have put the essential oils on. I didn't want to argue though.
Is the pur sleep essential oil a "medical" grade essential oil compared to the Walmart brand or el cheap flea market? I don't think so. I think essential oil is essential oil.
I can't think of any way that the oils can be physically transmitted to the lungs as long as the oil doesn't come in contact with the physical components of the humidifier like hose or water. Even with contact I am not so sure that much could "maybe" be transmitted. I can't see an air molecule supporting the weight of oil. Even with added moisture I can't see how it can physically be done but then I am not a biochemist. People used to put the PurSleep thingies in the hose...yep in the hose. As far as I know it didn't harm anyone. Then someone made a big to do about it maybe being dangerous so they changed to placing the thingy next to the air intake. I think it was more of a CYA thing than real evidence of harm.
If someone else thinks that oil can ride the air and get into the lungs at sufficient quantities that it might create a problem...well then all I can tell them is don't use it if that is what they think. If they think that then it pertains to all oils and not one brand over another.

Re: Pur-Sleep Cpap Aromatherapy
Bath and body works sells a whole line of sleep products and one of them is a lavender pillow mist. They have a ton of other pillow mists like calm, sexy etc. I just take that and spritz a little on a cotton ball and set it behind my cpap. It's really nice and puts me to sleep in minutes! Lol

I have been known to put a dab of my husband's after shave stuff on a cotton ball and put it next to the air intake.Wonderbeastlett wrote:Bath and body works sells a whole line of sleep products and one of them is a lavender pillow mist. Kinda helps a bit when he is gone so much.
A man could put a dab of his wife's perfume on a cotton ball and do the same if she was gone and he was maybe missing her.
That's why I say we can pretty much put whatever we want on a cotton ball and let the aroma flow in. Essential oils and such are nice because the aroma stays around longer. My husband's cologne aroma is gone after a few hours.
Heck, I have been known to just put some of my scented lotion on a cotton ball when I am out of essential oils. It doesn't last long but it is nice while it is there.
I really like the aroma of magnolia's. For daytime I use one of those burners that uses effusion oil. I don't know why the call it oil because it is alcohol based. The little burners that you light and blow out after a couple of minutes and the heated stone keeps burning without a flame and the aroma fills the entire room or house (if tiny house like mine). My favorite is Savannah Gardens by La Tee Dah. It's like sitting under a big old magnolia tree. I have toyed with the idea of using the lamp behind my machine but I think the aroma would be too concentrated that close. Also the little stone gets awfully hot (I have scars on my wrist from accidentally touching it) and I would hate for the hose to touch it...I know that would be the end of my hose.
Now if I had a separate place to put the burner so it would be safe...might be awful nice to go to sleep under a magnolia tree.
