SleepyHead 0.9.1 Official Beta Release

Okay, I just loaded this up on my home PC and I am noticing a problem with my data. It looks like the sleep time is way off from the start of my therapy until a month ago. When I installed the data, I did an import of the old data I had on my NAS drive, and then imported the data off the card. Anyone know how to fix this?

I didn't have any problems either. I am so grateful to whoever designed this. I like being able to see how I'm doing and hopefully be able to catch any trends indicating my apnea is getting worse. I joined weightwatcher's this past Thursday and will start actively this coming Thursday. Hopefully losing weight will help along with exercise.

I only have the double leak line showing on daily details on the reports when I used the PR S1 APAP which here is Sept and til Oct 11 when I use the first BiPap for 3 nights..then used the APAP till I got the new BiPap on the 23 of Oct. All my BiPap nights show a single total leak line in all of their daily details from Oct to now.

Here is my most recent overview tab showing the missing leak data. Disregard Dec 26 through 29 as I used M series machine.
Missing Total leak in overview corresponds to the days in Dec that I used the ResMed S9 VPAP and if I look at the daily details I have a single unintentional leak line on all those nights as it should show.
Missing data on the Regular leak line is for the dates that I used the PR S1 BiPap (both of them) and is only on the overview tab because all my detailed nights show a leak line clear back to Sept.

I still have SH 8.8...just imported again and my overview is correct and the BiPap daily leak lines show Total and Unintentional. SleepyHead 0.8.8 didn't seem to have a problem with multiple machines in Overview.

I may have missed an explanation of this along the way but can you explain Preferred Calculation Methods?

Middle Calculations - Median
Upper Percentile - 95%
Max Calculations - True Maximum
What exactly does this mean?

What is Multithreading? It's enabled.

Also, I guess because my computer is about 6-7yrs old, it doesn't show a pie chart. I notice that a few folks don't have it either. Is that the reason?

Also with the update I now have both Leak and Total Leak lines.

OK, you're showing the graphs from the overview tab. I'm looking at the daily tab. Do you see two lines under leak for the daily tab like this?

What are the system requirements for the latest Mac version? I get a "You can't open the application Sleepyhead because it's not supported on this type of Mac" error dialog when trying to run the app. It installs fine.

SleepyHead up to right now has never had the ability to show real unintentional leaks for PRS1 APAP and greater.. :-}

The two lines shown in Daily view shown with APAP data was from a bug, that algorithm only works with CPAP.

as I'm trying to solve this problem permanently.. I think I've got it, but I need a second or third opinion, as my foggy brains struggling to keep up with this one..

Once this is solid I'll drop the Total Leaks from overview, as it's confusing having both..

I mainly added those options for people who like to fidget with statistics.

Middle calculations allow you to pick your preferred choice of statistical median (50th percentile), average or (time) weighted average, which are all different methods of showing the center for the data..

The upper percentile allows you to pick any percentile you want in place of the boring 90%/95% values that are so common.. All they really do is filter out spikes in the data.. You can use it to show whatever percentile you want with it..

True Maximum shows the absolute maximum value in the data set and calls it maxim, vs 99% which filters out the very top outliers.. ResMed uses 99% in their summary data, so this option allows summary data to match up with the rest of it.

The defaults are probably the best choice.. I prefer weighted average to median. ResMed users will probably prefer 95% over 90% values.

Is the "Show event breakdown piechart" option enabled in the Appearance tab in Preferences?

The Leak / Total Leak thing is temporary in overview.. I'm still working on the unintentional leaks for PRS1 users. When I'm finished, the next update will automatically recalculate the leak data.

Archangle...I do have 2 leak lines available (in the Beta Version) in detail daily data ONLY for the nights I used the APAP machine and since I haven't used APAP since last week of October I don't have recent nights showing a double line.. I only have single leak line showing in daily reports since I have been using the BiPap. We will toss out the VPAP trial because I wouldn't expect 2 lines with it. Using SH beta updated version. I am using BiPap. I get this.


If I scroll back to a night where I was using the APAP...I get this showing double line...this is same Beta version.


I still have SH 0.8.8 in place... and in daily details I do have the double line for the recent nights with bipap. So this image for the same Jan14 night that in Beta version above shows single line... This image is NOT the Beta version and is the 0.8.8 version that I didn't remove yet.


So it seems most people have the double line in the Beta Version in the daily detailed leak section. I don't. It is not a huge deal to me. Unless someone else has the same thing happen...perhaps I am just the odd duck here. Perhaps the new Beta version doesn't like my BiPap because it is obvious it works in the 0.8.8 version. Does someone else who uses a BiPap have a single or double line? Might be good to know. Is it me or all BiPaps?

Is this weird thing tied into my weird overview graphs? I don't know. The over view graphs I don't care about and if I am the only one having the problem it very well is just me but I did not have the blanks in Overview of leaks in 0.8.8 so something is off in Beta version.

I mention this to show you and others that it is possible for someone else to have only one leak line showing and it is obviously total leak. If we are trying to explain something to someone and don't have an image to go by....might want to clarify which leak line the person is wondering about...total or unintentional. Just to make sure we are talking apples to apples.
My max leak for Jan 14 showing in total leak....is 53 L/min (my minimum baseline appears to be 23)
Obviously 53 is acceptable total leak number and most of the night much less...
If it was the unintentional leak number that 53 L/min would be awfully close to Large leak territory which if probably is around 70 L/min for me using unintentional leak.

So for now we just need to make sure we know which leak number someone might be talking about if we don't have a graph to see for ourselves.

You guys are all much more data/computer literate than I am. I frankly don't see the difference between the original SH I downloaded (except that now it will install onto Windows) or 9.1 or 9.2. But I use it and understand some of it.

Yes, Show Pie Chart option is enabled. I didn't have it on the original either. It's a great feature to have!

After a trip overseas, I got back late last night. Only got to see the new version of SH this morning. Installed it, and it immediately told me I was running an out of date version. The first couple of times I tried to update, I got a "Failed" error message. I thought that before I complained, I should read through this thread. Sure enough, I found the answer - right click on the icon and run as administrator. Brilliant! That will work for other programs, too.

The new version is amazing - such a wealth of information, and I love the snapshot on the statistics page. How am I doing at a glance. Told me what I had suspected - that lowering my pressure 0.5 cm did not help my AHI at all - made it worse, in fact. Removing the + after the CPlus, and reducing the resistance from X2 to X1 made a substantial improvement, so that was a good move.

Only things I can think of to improve it are to perhaps add a column for "All time" to the Statistics page. Already it shows that my AHI is dropping over time, but that extra data point would confirm it. The stats page should impress even the most "difficult" sleep docs and DMEs - I would tend not to try and print out a full report, because they might feel threatened by us knowing that much about our treatment!

Keep up the excellent work, Mark. You have already exceeded your objective of making something that is better than Encore Viewer (V2, which was a step back from V1, apart from the ability to read the SD card rather than their proprietary card that needed a reader that I have absolutely no use for now!). I also love the new logo - should keep those who wanted the sheep to continue happy, but has that unique touch with the mask!

Hmmm... Trying opening the Console (in Utilities), searching for "sleepyhead," and checking whether more information is provided there. Also, install.log (on the left panel in the Console) may have more information.
