If you are the only one having the problem, then it is NOT a Resmed issue, it is an issue w/that particular PAP. Its under warranty, contact cpap.com and make arrangements to have it repaired or more likely replaced. Pooh happens to the best of manufacturers on occasion.

Re: My Resmed S9 sucks
No, I think it is a Resmed issue and the S9 design is the issue here. I will try and explain. On my old S8, that fit together so tight once connected you could not separate them. Once in a while Id still have a restless night of sleep, particularly after I exercised really really hard. I dont know why, but I would and when that would occur, Id wake up with my S8 tilted or moved a few inches to maybe as much as six inches.
Again, it was me causing that to happen, not Resmed and not my DME. I never thought much of it because the units stayed together.
But the S9, the way Resmed designed this machine to fit together, I would describe it as a "delicate fit." The machine LOOKS delicate to me compared to the S8s and to Phillips Respironics CPAP gear. The way you fit them together, even after they "click" and its good and tight...it does not take much to get it to separate. It does not take much physical force to get it to separate. Ive used two S9s since January and both were the same. Both easily came apart compared to the S8s and compared to Phillips Respironics CPAP gear.
I set it differently on my table beside my bed hoping that will make a difference. It does not do it every night just once in a while. The last two days Ive worked out really hard, I probably work out harder than anybody here on this board. I really work out harder than I probably should at my age. And when I do that, sometimes I will have a night or two of real restless sleep I dont know why.

But the point you are missing EricinNC is that IT IS NOT A UNIVERSAL PROBLEM among the hundreds of S9 users on this forum...........it must be the machine that you were unlucky enough to purchase.
You may think as you wish, but quit harping on it. It has an easy fix. You can send it in for repair or replacement. You can smash it and buy an S8 or another machine more to your liking. You can simply put it in the closet. You are free to do with it what you want...........but you'll see by the responses, that no one else has this concern, but you. Deal with it how you will, and move on............

Re: My Resmed S9 sucks
The fit is actually pretty tight for most folks. The thing is, Im not most folks Im a big strong dude who is rough with stuff. Im the kind of person that prefers doing things by brute force if I have the choice. I can tell you, the fit between this S9 PAP and Humaire 5i is not as secure and tight as the S8s. Its a different design and inherently weaker, easier to "split" than the older machines.

There's your problem, and it definitely isn't a Resmed design issue.EricinNC wrote:..Im a big strong dude who is rough with stuff.

Never was an issue with the S8 though, tight fit no probs. S9 is like a little toy or something.BernieRay wrote:There's your problem, and it definitely isn't a Resmed design issue.EricinNC wrote:..Im a big strong dude who is rough with stuff.

You could always apply the universal tool that keeps things from moving which shouldn't move - duct tape!EricinNC wrote:Never was an issue with the S8 though, tight fit no probs. I actually already thought about that and will probably do that, thanks man for the constructive suggestion. I will probably do that. Been thinking about it today already actually.BernieRay wrote:You could always apply the universal tool that keeps things from moving which shouldn't move - duct tape!EricinNC wrote:Never was an issue with the S8 though, tight fit no probs. Re: My Resmed S9 sucks
Glad to, Eric.
FWIW - I was a bit shocked when I got my S9 in November. Compared to my 13 year old Nidek CPAP, it is definitely more delicate. But that's true about most things these days.

Eric --
You obviously know everything there is to know about the S9 machines from examining a single sample.
And everyone else with an S9 obviously knows nothing about their machines.
With those as givens, why bother coming here at all?
