Re: Someone please help this Newbie!
This looks really good and personally I would not be nearly as concerned with what you have right now, you show mostly hypopneas and not the major number of apnea events you had previously. It would be prudent to run for a while with few changes and see how things look, this is already a major improvement and you should start to actually feel the difference soon.
You have been given some very good information and I am sure you feel a bit of information overload by now. Do as much research as you can on both the condition and its treatment, but I think you are already off to a good start.
Best of luck with a longer sleep and keep us posted.

That's great Alex! I can't get over the difference in one adjustment.
Have you stretched out the flow on the first one to see how long you weren't breathing??

I'm not as familiar with Resmed software but based on what little I know it might be that all the events could be taking place if you turned onto your back? The snoring, FL and events all seem to line up. Is that possible?

Re: Someone please help this Newbie!
Wow, that is fantastic, Alex. Look an the apnea index!
The hypopneas, snores and flow limitations all appear together -- about 2 hours after therapy started. On an auto, those snores and flow limitations would have driven the pressure up.

WTG Alex, that last report looks so much better.
Seems like you have the hang of it now. Good job.

Re: Someone please help this Newbie!
Alex, something else to consider. You really need to look at your flow data. You can have back to back apneas under 10 seconds that won't be flagged. If so, you should be able to see them at 5 minutes, and then go to 1 minute to zero in on them.

Re: Someone please help this Newbie!
Thanks everyone...I wouldn't have got here without your assistance...really.
I did my final adjustment for a while with pressure of 13 and EPR of 1. End result...7 hours of constant sleep, minimal leak (95% at 2.4 and maximum of 9.2)
AHI of 3.5!!!
Sleepy T....you're right. Once they eventually find the time to call me, that's exactly what I'll say.

Hey Liz,
Can you explain a bit more about flow limitation? I'm not to knowledgeable about that. What does it mean and what am I looking for?

Re: Someone please help this Newbie!
Newbie;
I have to tell you I have kinda of run into a similar problem in the past. I have had my machine almost a year and I have found that the preasure is possible not set high enough and I may still be having apnea episodes. You have showed yours have droped but are not gone so might I suggest that you talk to your dr and increase your preasure. This is what I am currently working on with my dr. Let me know if this is helpful.

Ahh Poohbear, Alex has tried repeatedly to get with his physician and they don't return his calls.
and yes his AHI numbers have dropped remarkably to the 3.5 now. This is a huge improvement from just the other night. They will likely never be zero if that is what you are referring to "are not gone". They will never be gone and at this point a further increase isn't really needed. I suspect with time and even with no further changes things will continually to improve. This was just one night at this new change.

Re: Someone please help this Newbie!
Thanks Pugsy.
Poohbear, I've been living with AHIs in the high 80's and 90's for a lil over a month when I started with CPAP and consistently thought it had to do with masks and leaks because I defiantly believed my Dr that I was on the right pressure and on top of that, I was not educated enough on my machine and how to read its Data. What I also learned was that it is rare to see anyone, if ever, at zero AHI. Below 5 is desired and I got there last night...which for now is great for me because I'm feeling great, and that really is the ultimate goal I think. BTW, I gave you guys the wrong AHI for last night. It was 2.5 not 3.5. I think I have just arrived....

Well done...You have indeed arrived. I am so thankful it was finally relatively easy to get there. Just so sorry that you had to suffer through a month of ineffective therapy.AJimen05 wrote:BTW, I gave you guys the wrong AHI for last night. It was 2.5 not 3.5. I think I have just arrived....
