chunkyfrog, your comment is racist and extremely offensive. Keep your anti-Muslim rhetoric out of this forum. Super Sleeper, will you please deal with this situation appropriately?

Re: New TSA rules?
Cryo seems a little dangerous. They should just pump us full of propofol and slide us into a tube. Think how many passengers you could squeeze into a 767 that way. Of course, we xPAP users would have to be able to use our machines on board. No one could cause any trouble. No one could even trigger a bomb, and if they did, our tubes would shield us. I have often thought on long crowded flights that I would like to be sedated. And everyone says that propofol is pleasant to wake up from.timbalionguy wrote:Maybe they should just put all the passengers in cryo before a flight.

Re: New TSA rules?
I have, from a distance, studied some passengers' use of a similar method, only it involved their visiting an overpriced establishment with stools near the flight gates at the airport, and then a collection of small bottles during the flight. The method seems particularly popular among those sitting toward the front of the plane. I'm not sure it's so pleasant to wake up from, though.PST wrote:Cryo seems a little dangerous. Sorry if anyone was offended-----I do not find Jeff Dunham's humor racist:--(but I have edited my post)
If we cannot separate true people of faith (any faith) from fanatics and their followers,
we are all in a heap of trouble. What if one of the OTHER suicide cults had decided to bring down a planeload of non-believers?
These morons come in all colors.

Re: New TSA rules?
My opinion (not that it matters) is that the Dunham quote (before the edit), out of context from the comedy sketch it originated in, is easily misreadable, and could therefore be offensive to people of any faith, especially those unfamiliar with the sketch.
However, I knew, without a doubt, that the intention of the poster was to reference the entire skit, not to offend anyone of any faith.
My 2 cents ain't worth any more than anyone else's, of course. But that's my take.

As far as I'm concerned, absolutely no apology is necessary.chunkyfrog wrote:My bad; I forgot that Dunham is not that popular. . .

As a country we've already taken political correctness to an absurd level. We should absolutely be profiling those who are most likely to be terrorists rather than subjecting every single airline passenger to what amounts to a complete violation of their rights to privacy.
It's all security theater in any case, but has become inordinately intrusive. Do you realize that the contents of the cargo hold are in no way subjected to the scrutiny that you are? What a joke.
"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin (1775)

jbenenson,
May I also assume that in the interest of fairness you will "target" any posters who use the offensive terms "gee", "jee", "Jezus", "geez", "gosh", "god!", "OMG", etc.?

100% with you Amigo, the politically correctness has gone too far. And I'm not speaking about USA, here is the same thing.Amigo wrote

Re: New TSA rules?
I forgot that it takes a certain level of awareness to recognize humor and irony, and lack of sleep compromises it.
and to quote a pm I received:
"If you don't think that "Praise Allah...Boom" is offensive then you need to consider what is. Suppose somebody said "Glory to God and Jesus Christ...EXPLOSION...DEATH!" Would you think that was funny? "Praise Allah...Boom" can only be interpreted one way by the great majority of people, regardless of who said it. It clearly links Muslims and explosions, a topic that very few thinking people find to be at all humorous. It's not funny; it's racist and hateful."
The fact is, that being Catholic, I have developed a rather thick skin as of late. . . .
---others might do as well.
