Why we get so excited about things??!!
Re: Why we get so excited about things??!!
"But do you think it's good to expose people who are not capable of making that determination just yet?" I think that we have to be careful about who we decide needs our 'guidance'. While I certainly agree with your general take on this whole affair, I have to say that we can inform newbies in a sharing way of either our suspicions about certain posters, and/or what the accepted consensus is on Cpap related issues, but we also need to not come off as just as authoritative and condescending as the posters we're warning about or the point would be lost. I am at least as guilty as anyone else in finding it fun to bash those who stick their troll-like necks out here when we disagree with them, but unless we handle things differently, we will just become 'them' in our approach to the answers, and I don't think that's what we want to do... is it? Nah!!

To the OP--I apologize for calling you out on the multiple identities. Apparently that is what Calist is doing. I mentioned that because you claimed I was Calist, which is completely insulting. I would never treat patients or anyone else the way he treats people. It would be nice if there was a way for professionals to verify their credentials with the admins of the site so that there can be some level of trust. I very infrequently visit general sleep forums but all this with Calist caught my attention.
I was caught off guard by the attacks against professionals on this site because my intent was simply to help, nothing more. However, I do understand better after seeing how Calist trolled this forum. I am happy to give advice, talk about my own initial struggles with CPAP, mask issues, etc. with anyone. But it seems that that is difficult to do when so many differing opinions are presented. Some of those very forceful opinions beat others down, especially those who want to speak for the majority saying that professionals are unwelcome. That's unfortunate. People pay my boss, a sleep physician, a ton of money for advice I am willing to give freely.
Calist, if the RPSGT you are referring to is me, I do not want your thanks. I cant understand why you choose to invade this forum. If you truly want to be of service, your time would be better spent on the sleep tech forums teaching and helping other techs to be better so that patients can get better studies and better titrations. That is what I usually do. Please stop posting on this forum. I would love to see you share your knowledge with the other techs in an appropriate setting. Please stop!

What do you think about the Squishing Abdomen thread? Do you think destroying sleep architecture invalidates the study?

am i who i am???are you yourself???
when on the internet we(the user)must apply care to try to distinuish what is real and what is not, whether it be advice, information, or whatever.anyone can be anyone here and say anything. the truth and validity of what we see and read here or any other place on theinternet should be fully scrutinized(i think i smelled it right )
i sit down and read in here . some post crack me up. it is obvious the poster has no clue. is he/she well meaning wanting to help?? or is it someone playing infantile games for thier own twisted enjoyment. i can pretend to be anything on here (you can too(the post reader))if ya want it's real easy. did you know i run a top secret govenment operation aimed at reducing our dependance on foriegn soybeans? it took 2 law degrees and a 5 year internship at the world trade center (which i just finished) before i got this job)
now if you believe that ---shame on you . the statement can easily be devalidated because we all know the world trade center has been gone since the 9/11 attack. some posts arent so easy to distinguish the truth from the lies. so buyer (reader) beware.
next let me say that due to human nature some have the need to rebut these posts. to show that they themselves need to expressthier righteousness.while that may be thier nature it does tend to inflame things. but- they like eveyrone else here has thier right to (withing the rules set by the board owner) personally i like to ignore such things. some of these posters have a psycological need to be in a confrontational environment and will stay as long as that exists. should it dissapear , they will move on to "greener pastuers"
i hope i haven,t bored y'all too much just some thoughts from another sleep deprived mind
Re: Why we get so excited about things??!!
psst, fuzzy, Are you sure it's safe to talk about that top secret opration? What if C is a cpap user and catches you? I met him the other day -- he's in a foul mood. Spilling all the (soy) beans in not going to make him happy. Take care, OK? Oh, and don't tell him I told you... that new project I'm on now ---
