Wow, an FX for Barbies!!! That's really a disgusting Barbie pink. I'm not too sure I could sleep in the same room as that bilious color

I'd be interested if anyone gets one to know if the headgear is a different size. I'm on the last "ridge" of my silicone head gear adjustment (making it as small as possible) and if it stretches out any I'm going to be in trouble!

I can't easily get replacements because the FX isn't on Kaiser's formulary and I was depending on the auction site, so that's a no go now

I've got about the same head size as janknitz,
so would really like to see some numbers or dimensions comparing the headgear for the Barbie vs original FX.
Besides the lengths of the silicone headgear components, I would also like to know if they reduced the distance
from the front edge to the side loop.
That silly loop is around an inch too far above my ear, and causes a lot of late-night adjustment,
as the back strap slides up repeatedly (even when covered with Velcro)
BTW: the FX is still my favorite mask--the only one that doesn't HURT!

Ugh! Pink??????major yuck...is this the Legally Blonde FX version? It might as well be flourescent and glow in the dark.

On cpap.com, they only mention the color change and the smaller pillow availibility. If this is the same deal as the LT for Her, that will be all they did, so no sizing changes in the frame and headgear.

It seems to me that Resmed believes that only men have sleep apnea and if women do have it, they only care about the color they are wearing ....oh, and maybe the pillow size when the larger ones just don't work. Did you think about making adjustements for the actual frame to fit a smaller face and head? And lets release the "pink" version at least six months later than the "real FX" because again female users are just not that important to us (us as in Resmed). Like how hard was it to make it pink and include a XS in the package that it took so long to get this out?

I'd rather have something ugly that really fits. I'm asleep and do not have mirrors over the bed so I really don't care about what it looks like. My bed mate has gotten used to the Alien look. The cat doesn't care, though he hates getting blown on from the wierd places they always put the vents.

I want it to fit, not leak, be comfortable, have decent, affordable replacement parts (like replacement pillows that last more than a month at a time).

Are you listening to your users or just maximing your profits? Nevermind, we know the answer to that one......

Oh....almost forgot...just because the brain casing might be smaller does not mean the brain within is smaller. Since us humans only use about 10-25% of our total mental capacity anyway, we're more than equal. Pink just does not cut it as a treatment option.

And yeah, some will love the pink...I just personally hate marketing BS instead of real value.
Don't be afraid to go out on a limb.
That's where the fruit is.

No doubt it is PINK! My bedroom partners (3 dogs) won't mind. I have the FX now and will get the FX for her when I replace my mask next month. I'll look at the dimensions and compare to the FX and let you know. If it is smaller and you decide to get it, I'll swap you my gray pieces for you pink pieces. I love pink!

As I've posted before, I like the Swift II because it doesn't compress my cheeks and doesn't pull my cheeks upward.

Had a recent conversation with a ResMed rep and the FX for Her came up. It seems the differences are not only the new color, but there's also a sz XS along with a shorter strap in the back AND an extra notch at the top. ResMed took into consideration that most women have smaller heads and made the effort to address that in smaller headgear.

--but no difference in the position of those little loops?
Not enough to make me change my mind about ordering a Hybrid.
--but close; up until the loop placement went off the table.

Only ONE extra notch? They need 5 or 6.

So it seems as though I may have come across as a complete idiot because of my comments about the color of the mask parts. Yes, I do like pink. No, I wouldn't buy a mask based on color. I happen to be using the FX already because it is comfortable and works for me. My health is far more important than what my CPAP equipment looks like. I am an intelligent and very well educated professional woman (with a girly side). I work in a male dominated field and know all too well the frustration of equipment appearing to be geared toward men. However I like the challenges of working in a male dominated field and I love how heads turn when I show up on a large construction site with my pink hardhat on and ultimately kick butt with my knowledge and skill. My clients pay for my expertise and using CPAP is allowing me to continue to work and be safe while doing so.

For those who don't want Pepto pink on their mask but want the smaller range of pillow sizes, you can use the lovely gray straps that are included with the mask.

Love Pink!! YAY!! I might just order that one next week when it comes out. I hope they put more than one more notch on the top of the mask--need a few more than that!! Sounds like it is smaller around the back of the head as well. Unlike the Swift LT and the LT for HER--are both the same size head gear just in a different colore--:(

I used all the sizes of pillows that came with the FX--I ever ordered the XS from my DME--still getting leaks ---small ones but leaks --:( Don't know why either--i never get any leaks with the Swift LT for her. Dang!

I've had my Swift Fx since August 17th. Love it! You are supposed to wear it loose and the pillows just sit under the nares and the little tips go in the nares. I wear a small and I have a small head. I do have to make some padacheecks for mine as I wake up with strap marks on my cheeks and such. Even with the little wraps that came wiht it are thin, bit they do help a little if you have skin problems caused form the plastic straps on the mask. I do have to get some new pillows before long. I found that the pillows last longer than what most people say they do. I don't feel any air going straight up my nose I just feel I can breath normal thorough my nose with this mask. The nansal mask that I was using always leaked in my eyes and this mask doen not do that. I have had no problems with leakage and I'm happy with that. As far as the air vent is concerned, you don't want to get it too close to your bedding as it will feel like leak when there really isn't. I get the cold air on my hands a lot, but I keep a pair of fleece mittons on hand for those nights when I get the air on my hands and I have arthritis pretty bad so the air does vother me , but for the most part I don't have a problems with this mask. I did get one of those plant hangers you stick in the ground and fastened that to the post on my headboard and us that for a hose manager. Sure beats the cost of ordering one. It'll sure come in handy for the winter when I will need to use the humidfyer too and so far no rainout. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay

Great mask! It's beauty is in its simplicity.

This was way back on page 2 or 3... kind'a belated reply from me here.. I was on vacation earlier this month and am still playing catch-up reading threads.

User manual is here: http://www.resmed.com/au/assets/documen ... ow_eng.pdf - looks like 20 is the max.
Then the Swift FX wont work for me.
Looks like I need to find an alternative Nasal Pillow, that supports up to 23cm or greater.
Regardless of what the product info says, I'd bet you can use the Swift FX (or any nasal pillows interface, for that matter) at pressures well above 20.

Might need to use a homemade soft stretchy strap (a leg cut off a pair of pantyhose tights works wonders) to cradle the pillows better against the nostrils, but I'm betting it would work just fine at 23 cm H20 or more -- with or without a homemade strap.

I use a homemade strap with nasal pillows even at lower pressures than the high pressures you're talking about. Since you are able to use a Swift "as is" at pressure of 20, you probably wouldn't need an extra strap even at 23.

I've experimented with using several nasal pillows interfaces (and the extra strap) at 20 cm H2O just to see how they sealed for me at that pressure. They did fine. Everyone's mileage varies when it comes to masks and mask fixes, of course.

Anyway, my point is that I think the "official" approval of the various "Swift" interfaces as "max of 20" may simply be because that might be all the pressure ResMed tested their nasal pillow interfaces up to. I think ResMed probably expects many users who are at high pressures on bilevel machines will be using Full Face masks:

http://www.resmed.com/us/clinicians/tre ... clinicians
Under: Maximum IPAP time
"Recent studies show that almost all patients on bilevel therapy experience mouth leaks,"

Of course, they (ResMed) could have found that the IPAP/EPAP triggering got iffier with nasal pillows at higher pressures than 20. For some people anyone. I'd sure give whatever mask I liked a try, regardless of pressure. If a person has the software to see their own results, you'd have a good idea of whether a nasal pillows mask and the machine and you were all getting along well together up in the stratosphere.
