Gracie,

I only got one CD, too, with my software. I don't know why there would be two.

I have one last suggestion before I go to bed. Take that USB plug from the card reader out of the computer and plug it in again. If for some reason the computer didn't correctly recognize it the first time you plugged it in, it will give you a popup box saying Windows has recognized new hardware. At that point, it will ask for the drivers and you can then insert the CD and tell the computer that it's in whatever drive you put it and press okay. It will then install the drivers finally and you may be up and running.

If that doesn't work, I would perhaps PM Derek and maybe he can help you. I always think of him when it comes to computer problems with the software as he actually produced My Encore himself!!! Amazing.

Let me know if you have any success. I really hope you get this solved. Sometimes computers can be one of the most frustrating things when they don't work like they should...

Yes, $24.00 and $6.00 shipping with confirmation through Hong Knog shiping. About 7 days.

1. I never did install a USB driver that I know of. Didn't go to sleepyman's site for the download. Didn't have the 2nd disk with the Encore Pro driver (bought just the single disk). Didn't install the driver that came with the infineer. All I did was run the setup found under Smart Card Readers -- so I'm not sure that was right/enough.

2. Maybe the computer OS isn't REALLY able to get info from the USB ports -- some piece missing or not updated when Windows ME was installed.

3. Maybe the USB ports are defective.
Normally the usb drive is installed with windows. However, in the later versions for usb2, one has to have the service pak loaded to update to the usb2 drivers. So, the normal drivers should be loaded. You can go there in device manager and have it update drivers. It will search and if it can't find a better driver, it will leave it as is. Encore Pro only has one cd. The card reader has it's own cd and the setup.exe should load the drivers for it. Did you have a cd for the infineer card reader? It has the driver on it for the card reader. I can send it to you if you don't. First, you should have loaded the Encore Pro (1 cd). Next was the driver from the infineer card reader off of it's cd (1). Is this the way you did it? 2. If you have another usb device, try plugging it in and see if it is detected. 3. If they showed in the device mangager and appeared to be ok, no yellow exclamination, they should not be defective. Do you know anyone that fools with computers much that could take a look at it for you?

If you remove everything then load the Encore software, then load the reader driver, then load slepymans software (for infineer Mako 3500), then connect you reader, you should be golden. I was the original poster having problems and now I am up and running because of the hep and generosity of the folks on this site..
