The video is titled "sleepwalk.wm", but looks more like REM Behavior Disorder to me.

I've seen many dogs whine, bark, twitch, and paddle their feet while sleeping, but never saw one do what happened in that video.
Hey Rested Gal, a year ago the day after Thanksgiving we had to have our rescue dog "Lenny" put down.
About a week before Thanksgiving we went to the Animal Control and rescued another Shih Tzu boy is he a trip.
He sleeps more than I do.

Patrick,

I love Shih Tzus! When my wife and I move into a place that allows dogs, hopefully our own home some day, I definitely want to rescue one. When I was growing up, we had a Lhasa Apso... very much a trippy dog!
Sleep well and live better!

I have a dog with REM sleep hehavior disorder and she does what that dog did in the video and worse, on a daily basis.

I am a big-time animal lover - pets are definitely part of the family for me. Just having had likely RBD on my sleep study, I've been trying to find out more - stumbled upon this page. I braced myself for it and watched the other videos of Biskit - I did notice that in one of the more recent videos, the pooch has a helmet. Hard to imagine how to protect a dog like that - she did get it off in part of the video, but it was back on later in the clip. IMHO, it looked like the dog is typically shown sleeping in a large area without much to endanger her. Hopefully she is well-loved and her family is doing their best to keep her safe and happy. I'm almost afraid to ask if I can be shown the video from my own sleep study - apparently I scared the heck out of the tech.

oh that is so sad! That poor dog!

he could really hurt himself if someone doesnt protect him.. he could have broken his neck!

I cant bare to watch any more of this..

That behavior looks exactly like what my dogs do when they are dreaming, only they are paralyzed.. and that one wasnt.. nothing to stop him..

Poor baby! If they know the dog is going to do that, shame on them for not providing a safe environment for him..

If I had a dog like that I would have him sleeping in a padded room... and put a harness on him for naps so he couldnt run into
a wall and kill himself.. that does happen!

A friend had a dog who chased a frisbee and hit a wall, and the dog died.. this one could do that too, if someone doesnt save it...

Perhaps all the attention the dog is getting will shine a light on the fact it needs better care..

Anyone who thinks this is funny has never seen an animal alive one minute and dead the next from head trauma....

And if they think that is funny... they need to run into a wall at full speed...
