I have some proposition for you if you want.
I'm using PC Help Ware software to help my customers with PC problems. Means I can get access remothly into your PC, take control of your desktop and do all things. If you trust enough I can send you client side, which will allow me to take control then I can try to install this remothly for you.

Please let me know.Of course it's fully secure and under my discrecy.

I'm glad to see that somebody else was able to get this working. Unfortunately at least for me, 1.8.49 isn't fully compatible with Vista and it will change the color scheme to Basic. I believe 1.8.65 fixes this problem?

I got it to work!!!!!!!!!!!! I did have to actually run the sql installer directly from the link from microsoft and then named the server encore pro. Then when installing the encore pro software I had to have it start the server with my name followed by\encore pro and it did take a few times but then finally connected. This does work everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone have any ideas for Encore Viewer?

It crashed on my old XP computer when I changed cards (DateTime exception error, on launch). I've tried uninstalling both Encore Viewer and MS NET Framework. And I can't get it to run on my new Vista computer.

I should add that Encore Viewer has obviously stored some screwy data somewhere in XP, because it remembers my patient name when it tries to launch. But I can't seem to wipe it all out, to get a fresh install.

Is there only one version of Encore Viewer?

Also, does anyone else have the problem where the light on the smartcard reader is red instead of green? I have to uninstall the device and then re-connect it, then it shows green.

Gregor,

I have successfully installed EP on my Vista 64 computer per your instructions. However I am now having a problem connecting my Mako 3500 card reader. I am using the Vista card reader setup instructions from the EP 1.8.49 CD. No popup comes up when I plug in the card reader. How do I install the driver without this popup?

Leonard

Leonard,

I'm not there yet ... plus I'm a Mac person ... but is there any chance that you need to use the Vista 64 driver for the card reader?

Per Mako: http://www.ais-magnetic.com/en/index.ph ... &Itemid=20

Just a thought.

Nevermind. I plugged the card reader in a different USB port and the driver was automatically installed. Thank you so much for allowing all of us to use Encore Pro with our Vista 64 computers. I am going to see if Encore Pro Analyzer will now install and connect to this SQL database.

I fokkowed the direction below and installed the sql software as stated, then removed the server via control panel add remove programs. I then rebooted and installed EP and I only got one option to tick which was install ep not the data base. I eventually tried just that and it installed but the program would not run it was looking for the data base. I also tried installing leaving the qsl installed and it worked fine and the program started but wouldn't run as it was unable to find the data base. I have tried for a couple hours to get this working with no luck. I purposely waited until I was off the pain meds from surgery but that hasn't helped. My old computer is to the point where it takes over an hour to boot up and the program to start up so I am really stuck between a rock and a hard place here. Anyone have any suggestions? Maybe I mis interpreted or read something wrong.

I was hoping to have this working before Monday morning as I go for a follow up with my doc after a UPPP surgery. She does want to see my data but doesn't have a reader in her office. I can get the data to her in a file but it will not have the data for tonight or the next two nights.

quote="Gregor"]If you have SQL previously installed, remove it.Reboot PC to ensure is gone.

copy all directories and files from CD to disk drive.
go to directory called /files/SQL 2005
delete SQLEXPR32.exe

go to : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... 465cdff1e7 scroll down and download file SQLEXPR.EXE with size 55.4 MB (both version in this file 32 and 64 bits.)
Copy downloaded file into /files/SQL 2005 and change name to SQLEXPR32.exe
Install SQL first using new SQLEXPR32.exe, then uninstall SQL Server from your system. You should be ready for EP with SQL integrated installation now.

run EP launcher
choose English

press button Install software

again choose language English

Press next

accept license

choose advanced - press next

press next - default directory will be used

Select features - tick both boxes - database software and encore pro - press next

should be greyed out "Install new server" - just press next

type new password (what do you like as password, same password in both fields)

press next
press install

you should see installing sql express dialog window - wait until it will finish (can take few minutes - be patient)

Then you should see EP installer when creating database tables and entries.Wait until you see Finish - press on Finish button.

all done !

run EP you should see on dialog window connecting to database.

To get MAKO DT-3500 Card reader working under Vista 64 bit go to : http://www.ais-magnetic.com/en/index.ph ... &Itemid=20
Download and install driver from link above, and you are ready to go.

good luck[/quote]

I don't know what I am doing wrong. I don't have encore installed at all. New PC. Vista. I made a folder on desktop, copied all the files from the cd to the desktop file. downloaded the new sql from the link above, replaced the old file, renamed.

When I go to install, it doesn't give me a dialog box for installing database. Not sure why.

Of course, the install doesn't work. Unable to connect to specified database.

This is 1.8

Thanks.

Hi,

I was very successful getting my Mako DT3500 running without issue for months now. All I had to do is follow "5Aces" instructions. See Post at:

viewtopic/t41347/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=39 ... 51#p349062

For sake of speed here are "5Aces"'s Instructions:

Just in case,go to:

Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Services and Applications/Services/Smart Card (Scroll Down the Services List)

Smart Card (Right Click) should be set to 'Automatic' in the Properties (General) and then 'Started'.

I still can't get my card reader Mako to read. EP says can't connect to device. I finally managed to load EP but had to check another box not listed.

I searched the forum and followed all the procedures for turning services on auto, downloaded new drivers, etc..

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.
