HOPE. PRAY. LOVE.
What they have said so far is not definitive; hang on to that.
Remember, all the things you can imagine--are only imagined thus far.
Imagine better things--or think of something else entirely.
Time will reveal what it will, when it will.
Most of the time, we will wonder why we let our minds pain us so.

Kira, I know it's hard but please try to think positive thoughts. You've been so diligent about your aftercare that whatever it is you've caught it early enough. And there's also the real possibility that it's a lab error which is not uncommon. It really does stink that they notified you before a holiday when it's not definitive at all. Sending a hug!

Good evening Kiralynx.

"They waited until after 5p on a holiday Friday to tell me this. I will have to make an appointment with my oncologist."
I think it sucks that they waited to the very last minute to give you this type of news. If anything, call you either in the early morning today or first thing Monday morning. This would've given you time today to start making those phone calls and get the ball rolling. Now you have to go through the weekend without making contact with anyone. The waiting game is certainly no fun. I'm sorry they've put you through this. ((Hugg)) to you Kiralynx.

Prayers for a speedy resolve to this scary time for you. I am hoping that 2013 is a year of wonderful memories when you do get to take that dream trip.

I wrote something for my kids a while back.

Life is a procession of events,
some to be cherished
some to be endured.
They all contribute
to the final person that we are to become.

I hope the events you have to endure pale in comparison to the events you can cherish.

Karen

Kiralynx,

I will keep good thoughts for you. And I'm with you over the timing of their notifying you. It's like they have no common sense that telling you something like this, after 5 pm on a Friday, is going to make you upset and worry over the weekend. Unfortunately, it happens all the time.

Try to keep positive thoughts and not worry too much (easy for me to say, I know).

Keep the board posted.

Hi, Kira.

I'm sorry to read your most recent update, and I'm hoping it's either just a lab screw-up or that the "abnormality" is something easily remedied. Also sorry to hear of the loss of one of your doxies.

Sending good thoughts your way...

The word abnormal is so much more ominous in those with a medical history such as yours. Sure hope abnormal ends up being exactly that and no more. Sorry to hear your doctor's office was so inconsiderate. Shame on them. Please do keep us informed.

I'm trying. But... I was beginning to hope that I could take that vacation. The knowledge that it now recedes into some distant "maybe some day..."

Thanks, Dori.

I don't even know when they'd have notified me if I hadn't called them. I'm not terribly fond of my gyn's office nurse. But it was the doctor herself who called. And with bad news, the least they could have done is return my call shortly after I called at 10a that morning.

Thanks, Starlette. I did go ahead and call the oncologist's office, but they had already closed, and I got the answering service. However, the service told me that the would be open on Monday. So I'll be sure to be up, and will call then.

Madalot,

Considering all the things you've been through with your health issues, you're possibly one of the few folks who do understand what dealing with medical entities can be like, and dealing with an intractable enemy.

Thanks.

Hello, just thought I'd mention that even if it is bad news it isn't the bad news it would have been in 2009. There has been a revolution in the treatment of cancer that is just starting to reach the clinics. If your cancer has recurred it will not be classified as endometrial cancer but by the specific genes in your tumor that have given rise to its malignant growth and treatment will target these specific genes ( rather than just trying to nonspecifically kill all cells that are dividing)
