Yes waiting for lab test can be so nerve wracking! Found a lump once, it turned out ok but waiting was a bitch.

Next year I want to go with the knitting group to Jasper in the special train from Edmonton for the long weekend. This year I couldn't get away. Hopefully next year it will be possible.
The trip to Jasper sounds like fun -- not as many people seem to get there as hit Banff and Lake Louise. The last time I was there, we made a day trip up the Icefields Parkway, and only had a short time in Jasper, but I liked what I saw.

As I said, my husband points out that if something was really wrong, they'd call me at once (like they did for the original cancer diagnosis). But the waiting is still a nuisance.

A bunch down, and two more to go before the first major milestone of a life cancer free!

Thanks, Kathy!

A good friend of mine just had surgery for breast cancer.
Her sister bought her on of those shirts that says ,
"Yes, they are fake; my real ones tried to kill me."

Well, you have to keep up a sense of humor.

I don't think a fake uterus would work, though.

Time for another update to this thread -- regrettably.

I've mentioned having had surgery for endometrial cancer on 7 April 2008. For my first two years, I had to have labs every four months. All of them were NEGATIVE.

At my visit in January 2010, the oncologist told me it could now be every six months. And that the labs could be done by my regular gynecologist -- that she (the oncologist) didn't think I needed her any more!

Unfortunately, my labs for December 2012 are ABNORMAL.

They waited until after 5p on a holiday Friday to tell me this. I will have to make an appointment with my oncologist.

It looks like I will not be taking the dream vacation Harry and I have been thinking of through the Canadian Rockies... on the Rocky Mountaineer.

I lost my beautiful Sunny Lady Dachs to throat cancer on October. Now this.

Oh Kira I feel so bad for you. What a horrible Christmas present.

Keeping my fingers crossed that it is something else less dreaded.

Was not impressed that they waited until after 5p on a holiday weekend Friday to hand me this news.

I don't know what to think... I'm really feeling like I'm in shock.
