Although my name is mentioned in the original post, which is no longer visible on this thread, I was not bashed directly. I also stayed out of this thread until last night when the thread was getting longer. More went on during chat Saturday night than I mentioned. I didn't feel a strong need to bring up more here than I already mentioned.

I feel there was some payback in chat for my walking away from the room after the icon was posted. I can accept being trolled. It takes a lot in a chat to upset me. I have trolled chats myself, but usually it was to troll for trolls. I set myself up for attack on a thread by a young lady here summer before last so she wouldn't be trolled further. She had severe depression and adjustment to xpap problems. The bait worked somewhat.

However, I found the chat situation where someone came in as snore pup and the chat posts made inexcusable. To me, and I am human, and do make mistakes, it was clear that only one person could have been said what was said (not that it was so bad). Chat was very disrupted on Sat night.
This thread needs to die - I agree with that.

Again, I hope that Browser can find the help he so desperately needs. It isn't going to be an easy and finding appropriate help isn't going to be easy to find, but he needs to start on that journey. Even finding a therapist who can handle the issue he might bring forth is going to not be easy.

I know from my own personal experience that finding someone to work with after the flashbacks of the rape by the psychiatrist in my past (I was sent to him for headache problems not therapy) was very difficult as the average therapist accepted that clients "out" there had been sexually abused by other therapists, but of course, they would never have such a client walk through their door for help. It was a long slow journey to get through it and I am sure there are still scars out there.

Huh? I guess I am missing something here. ADD strikes again.
Rooster, if you're referring to my ADD striking again, no, not this time. Was I kidding this time? No. Browser wrote this:

and I found it extremely offensive. That's all. My reference to writing to the forum administrators, which I have done, is in keeping with what I had quoted from the User Agreement:
Please report to us any issues, inappropriate or offensive content, and violations of our policies.
Not to worry... I've said my piece, and I have no intention of engaging in a debate, pushing the point any further, getting in a fight or anything like that.

Marsha
Nope, I was referring to my ADD.

The comment you quoted was offensive, IMO. But I hope the moderators will not start trying to eliminate all of the offensive stuff that is posted here.

BTW, I find more offensive, for example, some of the polite posts that recommend their favorite brand of nasal mask to a newbie whose profile shows they are currently using a FF mask.

Ahh, yes, brings back memories, that one and it's two sisters are some of the most viewed of all time. As a matter of fact, it rates 112 out of 31,051 threads. Just goes to show what sells newspapers. To further illustrate this point, check out how "Mommy, They're Pickin' On Me!" overtook "Variable Breathing" (OK, maybe it is a little too niche) in replies and views in only about 22 hours:

On the other hand, the top vote-getter, at 96,759 views, probably the most technical, #1, The Big Kahuna (during which the Birth of SAG occurred)(out of necessity in order to continue to post image links) remains............

More Stuff You Can Use (Or Not)

Post by StillAnotherGuest » Tue Dec 30, 2008 6:09 am

BTW, has anyone ever wanted to go back in thread pages, to see what was happening on like page 100, and going back 3 pages at a time was a pain? Each thread page has a url that ends with a number that corresponds to the total number of threads that precede it, as in

viewforum.php?f=1&st=0&sk=t&sd=d&start=100

would be page 3. So anyway, changing that url to like

viewforum.php?f=1&st=0&sk=t&sd=d&start=15000

will get you all the way back to April 2007.

Or did everybody already know that?

I didn't know that, SAG. Wow... who knows how many you've saved from carpal tunnel surgery, to say nothing of near-terminal boredom, with this information? Thanks!!

Jerry,
Maybe we should start our own thread, "Do you remember the days?"

Where I grew up (Taiwan), it was the cockroaches! The inside of the outhouse literally moved with millions of roaches. I was terrified of them because they would fly and land in my hair. Hence, my DDT exposure.

Bad Breath,
ROTF!!
