Well said, DSM. Let it ride, folks. Let this thread die a deserved death. Perhaps some mistakes were made, maybe even on both sides. Its over and done with.

This forum is generally a very welcoming and forgiving place - what are you doing to
help keep it that way ? - please take time to reflect on this idea. A new year starts in a couple of days.

Cheers

Browser, I wish you would read what Johnny wrote in that link that you provided. This is his final sentence:
johnnygoodman wrote:Love your neighbor and be a neighbor others can love.
Here's something else he wrote. It's in the cpaptalk.com User Agreement. The highlighting/underscoring is mine:
Abuse of CPAPtalk.com
CPAPtalk.com works together with its users to keep CPAPtalk.com operating properly and to help safeguard its users as much as possible. Please report to us any issues, inappropriate or offensive content, and violations of our policies.

CPAPtalk.com may suspend, deactivate, limit, or cancel our service and user accounts, impede or restrict access to our website, defer, or delete hosted content, and utilize technological methods or legal means to keep users off of CPAPtalk.com, if in our sole discretion, we think that they are causing issues, potential legal liabilities, or are acting in a manner inconsistent with the letter or spirit of our policies and this Agreement. We may do this without limiting other possible remedies. We also have the ability to terminate user accounts that have no activity for a long period of time.
What you wrote was not nice, it was not loving, it was not in line with any of cpaptalk.com's policies. Shame on you, Browser. What you said was hateful and horrible. DSM could not have been nicer to you if he tried. And your comment to SAG about visiting Snoredog was beyond inappropriate and offensive. I will be copying my post and sending it to the forum administrators, as the User Agreement requests. (I know, DSM and SAG... you are more than able to fight your own battles, but this is beyond the pale.)

I did not realise so many people were sensitive to the movement in the avatars. I have stopped the movement in mine. Is the color of this one offensive to anyone?

I object to it. It reminds me too much of my childhood.

Jerry,

I liked your old avatar, but I love this one. We had outhouses when I was young, too, and I hated them so much that I would hold it as long as I could before having to make the trip.

Rooster, if you're referring to my ADD striking again, no, not this time. Was I kidding this time? No. Browser wrote this:
Browser wrote:Way to take the high ground DSM... Attack the messenger... Hi SAG, I thought you were visiting Snoredog, hows the sleep clinic business?
and I found it extremely offensive. That's all. My reference to writing to the forum administrators, which I have done, is in keeping with what I had quoted from the User Agreement:
Please report to us any issues, inappropriate or offensive content, and violations of our policies.
Not to worry... I've said my piece, and I have no intention of engaging in a debate, pushing the point any further, getting in a fight or anything like that.

I had no idea that certain avatars or emoticons could bother people either. I'm glad to know that now. Sometimes people assume that if THEY know something, everyone else does (or should), too. That ain't always the case!

Just a thought. If a person is bashed and stepped on, offended, etc., that person can choose to walk away and just forget it.

I don't know why they call it vacation, SAG thinks he needs a vacation to recover from vacation!

However, overall, the change of scenery has done him well, and he even was able to spend some time putting the final touches on his predictive algorithm of breathing instability (as measured by Variable Breathing%) vs objective data and thinks ol' Mr. Paranoid's VB% and NPSG results should demonstrate excellent correlation.

So what have you kids been up to?

SAG,Welcome back - especially if you have more thoughts on %VB - am very interested in your thinking on that as I am sure Browser is too.

Although my name is mentioned in the original post, which is no longer visible on this thread, I was not bashed directly. I also stayed out of this thread until last night when the thread was getting longer. More went on during chat Saturday night than I mentioned. I didn't feel a strong need to bring up more here than I already mentioned.

I feel there was some payback in chat for my walking away from the room after the icon was posted. I can accept being trolled. It takes a lot in a chat to upset me. I have trolled chats myself, but usually it was to troll for trolls. I set myself up for attack on a thread by a young lady here summer before last so she wouldn't be trolled further. She had severe depression and adjustment to xpap problems. The bait worked somewhat.

However, I found the chat situation where someone came in as snore pup and the chat posts made inexcusable. To me, and I am human, and do make mistakes, it was clear that only one person could have been said what was said (not that it was so bad). Chat was very disrupted on Sat night.

This thread needs to die - I agree with that.

Again, I hope that Browser can find the help he so desperately needs. It isn't going to be an easy and finding appropriate help isn't going to be easy to find, but he needs to start on that journey. Even finding a therapist who can handle the issue he might bring forth is going to not be easy.

I know from my own personal experience that finding someone to work with after the flashbacks of the rape by the psychiatrist in my past (I was sent to him for headache problems not therapy) was very difficult as the average therapist accepted that clients "out" there had been sexually abused by other therapists, but of course, they would never have such a client walk through their door for help. It was a long slow journey to get through it and I am sure there are still scars out there.
