i have to wonder if this thread is a result of the sh*tstorm that brewed up on live chat last night

if, as guest and others like him/her maintain, what they are trying to do is offer advice and guidance, i just don't understand the levels of hostility and vitriol

opinions are like a$$holes--everyone has them, so why not just wait till you're asked instead of trying to shove unsolicited advice down the throat of adults? what about the grace to know that you can "offer" advice but that doesn't mean it will be implemented or even heard?

and where is the respect? these people feel that their opinions and advice should be respected, but it's truly a two way street...respect has to be earned and spewing venom and insulting people's intelligence has never been the way to achieve that

this thread saddens me as much as the hornet's nest that live chat became last night...there is just no place for all this rudeness, hostility and lack of respect

Missed last night - oh well, there is at least one tech - probably more - who does nothing but s*it on people who try to help out others in chat -

last summer I watched the techs run out many who came for help in chat - major lynch mob - tried to reason with them but the techs don't accept reasoning - they seem to think it is their chat and they can run it like they want

imho some of the techs should be banned from chat - not all - but many or they need to be censored

jules,
i hear ya, and i've seen it firsthand
but just for the record i'm not saying it was a tech who started this thread, only that it's possibly related to last night; just feeling like it's quite a coincidence otherwise
what i do know is that i'm still bruised from live chat last night, so i'm just glad that i'm going away on vacation so i won't be setting myself up for any more of that crap for a while

[quote="Anonymous"]I am glad that patients have a place to discuss their condition, however, not at the price of putting themselves or others at risk.

CPAP/Bi-level pressure is a PRESCRIBED PRESSURE BY A PHYSICIAN.

This is exactly the hard-headed attitude that has let people like you here to begin with. Now, you'll get advice from people who THINK they know what they're doing.
Maybe if you go visit with one of your sleep pro buddies there they can stick a CPAP hose up your ass and blow that wild hair right into your soft-headed mush so you can THINK before you advise

Oops too late they set the pressure too high and look what's comming out

Why? What's wrong with what I advised? Going to see a professional instead of someone on an internet forum is bad advice? Wow.

I don't think our comments should be given to someone who will not hear or speak logic. They are here to stir the pot, not to offer anything beneficial to anyone here. They just want to call us stupid for taking our own problem in to our own hands. They don't really know what they are talking about.

Heh, heh.......at least I won't be ALONE down there. (I'll have lots of company)

Yep......it happens a few times a year.......but those "extremists" are so much fun to watch while they make fools of themselves......and give the newer "converts" on the forum a target to blast (and tell their less-than-perfect experiences with the medical professionals).

Love it!

Right on Sharon!!!!! Well said.....I missed last night, but tend to ignore those kinds of flame-wars.......

I gave this guest as much validity as I give 99.9999% of all the unregistered guests here......nada!!!!! If they can't register and have an intellegent conversation they don't deserve our time and for my part -- this is it......

Treesap's right -- we need to ignore this troll. There are far more intellegent posts to address with legitimate and valid issues.....

This thread needs to die -- right here.......

cheers

Interesting opinion you got there. I just saw my doctor (sleep specialist) recently. I told him that I downloaded everything about the machine from the internet and that I was adjusting my own pressure. He said fine, just don't blow your head off with it and when you find the best pressure for you call me and let me know what it is and I'll tell the DME so they won't be on your case about it.
Anonymous wrote:There is some REALLY BAD AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS INFORMATION ON HERE on this site!

The people who make their own pressure changes, etc. I am talking to you. I could not believe when I started to read this forum.

If it's not taken down, then at the VERY LEAST the moderators should make a zero tolerance policy of posts related to these types of things.

Let me make something very clear. If you're having problems seek advice from a sleep professional (M.D., D.O., NP, PA, RPSGT) not some fool on an internet forum.

THIS SITE NEEDS TO GO!!!!!!!!!
