Hi Lori,

I see that was your first post. Welcome!
Glad to hear you're doing well. Being a teacher must be great work. Frustrating at times, like most jobs, I'm sure. Sometimes I wish I had become a teacher.

Keep in touch!

Hello everyone,

Another Minnesota boy checking in. I'm middle-aged with the mind of a 25 year old. I've been involved in computer and network support off and on for the past 18 years. For the past 5 years the job market has been pretty rough. I'm currently underemployed but working weekdays instead of the strange hours I used to have at a previous job.

I've been "wearing the mask" for almost a year now. Feeling better, but wanting more.

Like other posters, I am a writer. Lots of ideas, but few written pages at the moment. My best friend and I have enough story ideas for about 10 short films and a couple of feature length films.

I hope the (near) future brings me more spare time to finish some of these.

The little guy pictured at left is my cat, Gizmo, in the middle of a yawn. His sister, Cricket, also lives with us.

I need to get checked out for ADD - lots of disorganization in my personal life that I believe was exacerbated by my untreated OSA.

Bless us all, every one.
I recently moved up to a Philips Remstar SYSTEM ONE with humidifier and am liking it.

Middle age.... I guess I qualify for that catergory. I am an accountant working for a Premium Clothing company. I hate my career and I am trying to make a change to something new. Maybe then I will sleep better at night.... (if one could only dream)

Jim, I sure can relate. I hate my job. And it doesn't even pay enough to pay the bills. So I don't have even that excuse to keep it. Just yesterday, my boss, in his ongoing effort to train people, said he knew I was intelligent and could handle the job with some more training, but I'd have to really want to do the work, for it's incredibly tedious and boring. No, I don't want to do the work. I hate it, more and more each day. But I've been in such a holding pattern with this sleep apnea, before beginning treatment. Now that I feel a little better, I'm still scared to go through the process of finding another job. I'm just a scaredy cat!!

Jim, do you have any hobbies/projects you like to do? That can help sometimes. But don't go by me, even with diversions, I still hate my job.

I am a private piano teacher and artist who does paintings, also caricatures (anyone interested send me your picture and you might be surprised what comes back). I have been on Cpap since March when I went to see the Dr about my loud snoring because I was going on a trip to Cuba with someone who can't stand snoring and after getting a sleep study, found out about the apnea. Now trying to accustom myself to sleeping with an Active Nasal Mask. That's all Folks

Greetings from across the pond.
Can't remember what I put in the last thread, so hope this is consistent.
I'm a middle aged, middle-income, middle-England dweller with a spreading middle!
Been working in local government for 8 years, my second career after 20 years in banking, during which I was fortunate enough to travel extensively in Europe, the middle east and the far east. Even managed a few trips to North America!
Now happily settled in an 19th century cottage in a small village with 2 pubs and a lovely cricket ground some 40 miles from London. Two grown up daughters who have left home, the third is still here.
Also share the cottage with 1 wife, 3 cats, 1 dog, 3 masks and 1 aPAP

littlebaddow,

Maybe you've mentioned this before...What is the meaning of your member name?

Sounds like it maybe should have been middlebaddow.
Sincerely,

Hi Everybody, well, I am currently struggling with my identity as I retired on 5/6/05! I know there is someone in here who is not identified with her employment!

I have been in the human service field for most of my working life, most recently as the director of youth and family services for a YWCA where we offered case management services to pregnant/parenting teens, a parenting center, a youth leadership program and until very recently helping people apply for Child Health Plus and 'family Health Plus Health insurance....got dropped from that. And also we did youth court.

Prior to that I was director of social services at a county social services department in charge of child protective services, foster care, adult protective services and prevention services etc. Very stressful. The YWCA was much better.

I have been using (or trying to use) the CPAP for about 6 months now. It has gotten somewhat better, although my symptoms have not yet improved all that much. Hopefully soon!

I enjoy Tai Chi, Chi Gong, traveling, reading (when I can stay awake) and my new granddaughter!
What a varied group we are!

Nothing more mysterious than the name of the village I live in, Mr Wader

I have an American cousin who lives in Califrnia, who is convinced that it's a derogatory comment about your stock market

There is a Great Baddow and a Little Baddow, several miles apart, though Great Baddow has grown beyond village size and has now been absorbed by, and become a suburb of the neareby large town (Chelmsford).
Thankfully, LIttle Baddow has remained a small village, surrounded by woodland and farmland.
These quaint names seem to be an English trait, with variations like Upper and Lower, and even in some cases a Middle as well!
I've no doubt there's some historic explanation for this, but I'm not sure what it is.

Say! Being from Ontario, would you be familiar with a young guitarist from London, Ontario, I believe. His name is Robert Taylor and he has won the first annual Canadian Guitar Fingerstyle Competition. If all goes well, I've arranged for him to come down and perform for my birthday party in September (big number ). I'd have you do his drawing, only he took most of his better photos off of his website. It's:

http://www.robert-taylor.ca

...... Just asking.

Linda,

Well all the typing in the world doesn't help when you forget to log in and your post won't well post..

Projects- I have lots of them to do. Many things going on not enough time since I work ridiculous hours. And for a job I hate. But hope is in the horizon. I approached this open position at work that is outside the accounting arena. Hopefully it will work out. Won't go over at all with my current bosses.

Littlebaddow--- where in England is your hamlet. I've been to England three times-- London, Plymouth and a town in the midlands just outside Birmingham. Just curious.
