Oh by the way -- better keep the nurse comments to yourself as you don't want your wife to give you a swat do you?
She thinks I am harmless (and I will let her continue to think that ).
Well also, her background is in the legal field and she made it clear years ago, if I ever pull anything she will legally and financially take me to the cleaners, rake me over the coals and through my remains in the deep blue.

I may need to borrow your wife some day if I need to rake mine over the coals and take him to the cleaners.

Ha, Rooster. Having been thru a short lived marriage years ago, I told my current hubby (43 years) that "murder is easier, so sleep well, dear heart".
I'm delighted you've made it thru the surgery and have it behind you! And it is good to see you doing so good so far!! Soon all of this will be behind you and you will be breathing freely and gain a few IQ scores.

Take care Roosterman!!!!! Keep us up on how you're doing (like I have to say that....... )

Thanks. With newfound oxygen I hope to exercise my mind and get it up to 80 or so over the coming months.

Glad to hear all went well.
You will probably really glad you did it once the splints come out. (Maybe even just after the packing comes out.)
I had little nose pain as well.... I HOPE you don't get the sinus headache I had.... if you do.... call the doc back... IT WON"T GO AWAY on it's own.
Also.... as they said... don't over do it. (That may have been actually what caused my problem.... unfortunately.... my Mother was at one hospital and I was at another. My Mom had been very sick for a long time, I thought having the surgery done while she was in the hospital was my best bet for getting it done.... but she took a turn for the worse the day after my surgery and passed away later that night.
While, I say the worse part of my surgery was my headache.... actually the WOSRT part was my Mom passing away.
I wouldn't have even had the surgery done.... but I felt really bad myself and I thought she would be OK while I was in surgery. Instead, I had to leave the hospital I was in the next day becuase she was passing away at the other hospital.
To make a long story short..... I may have over done it on myself.... but when she passed away I had to make funeral plans for her, ect. )
My Mom passed away from COPD with end stage lung disease.

Amazing, See I was just a rare case with my ordeal and let me tell you that the packing they put in my nose was SOAKED IN, get this, "4% COCAINE-SOAKED Cotton Pledgets" and then placed in my snout for a week, my gosh they should of told me that, I COULD OF BEEN PULLED OVER & ARRESTED for being UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF " COKE" No wonder they said I said whoo-hoo I haven't been this loaded in years, I just read this from MY SURGERY REPORT I got from my doctor yesterday at the POST-OP, you have to ask for it, it tells EVERYTHING from start to finish about the surgery My report almost did just that, ( put me in ) ! I prayed for you lastnight and this morning and I thank "GOD" you came through it so perfectly (other than the tube in the throat) of course! My throat wasn't very sore at all ! Hello WabMorgan ! Awwwwww, I am so sorry to hear that your PRECIOUS "MOTHER" passed away, your story made me cry , that is one of the saddest things I have ever read. I didn't know that is what happened during your surgery. It must be VERY HARD for you to even comment or to see a post on this surgery, it has to bring back so many sad memories if you ever need to talk to someone about it or need a shoulder to cry on pm me ! Stay Sweet & Take GOOD Care of YOURSELF ! SleepieNoMore/Stevie

Glad all went well, but remember, take it easy.
I can't believe you are getting the splints out that quick. My Doc waited a week for mine to come out.
You will have a "false" sense of being OK when this is all over with and 10 days after my surgery is when I had those terrible nose bleeds. So, take it easy.
Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't do a thing for two whole weeks.

I am so sorry for your bad experience. It is ironic that someone should mention this to me. This was actually one of my fears going into the surgery. My elderly mother and my wife's elderly mother are in poor health. When scheduling my surgery, I could not help but think what if one of them passed away during my recovery.

Actually I don't have any packing - just the splints and a mustache bandage to catch blood drippings. Seems odd to me, but apparently this is often done.

Yes, I told the doc before surgery that others are reporting keeping the splints in for seven days and he has me scheduled for out in three days.
He commented with a frown, "They are leaving them in too long. You will be happy to get yours out Friday".
The cynic in me says to check with his office this morning and see if he is on vacation next week. or ?

I took your advice last week and canceled those two trips. Now about going to work next week, I have to see how I do with the splint removal and the bleeding over the weekend. Thanks for the reminders buddy. I do tend to plunge ahead at the wrong times. When my wife pulled the car into the garage yesterday after the surgery, I walked down the hill to the mailbox and back. That pumped much blood into the mustache bandage and prompted a tongue lashing from my wife.

Wow some
great things last night .....
- -No pain all night!
-No pain medication since that morphine shot at noon yesterday in the recovery room!
-I wore my F&P432 mask all night (7.5 hours)!
-I was on my side most of the night!
.... and then a few things that need to improve...
- -Despite being comfortable, I probably slept no more that two hours. This is hard to understand because I know I was exhausted.
-I had 42 apneas. From the chart it looks like 38 of them were between 5:30 and 6:15. I woke up at 6:15 and had been sleeping on my back! My pressure range was set 7-10 cm for side sleeping. I know I need about 20 cm for back sleeping but did not want to open up the range and risk blowing some surgery away.
-I have the beginnings of a bad problem on my nose bridge. With my A-Flex setting of 3 and the pressure range of 7 - 10 cm, I have that mask just barely tightened and I get no leaks but still this nose bridge problem. One or two more nights and it will be so bad I will have to discontinue the mask.

That drip, drip bleeding has slowed way down to near nothing today. Tomorrow the doc pulls the splints out.
I would like to get rid of this mustache bandage and smell what I am eating. Those of you who have gone through this, is it likely to start bleeding again after the splints are pulled out?

Mine didn't, but they were in a full week. Good luck...sounds too soon to me. You ought to REALLY take it easy this weekend. No bending over and no lifting....but what do I know....LOL.
