Yes. And, I believe from pictures I've seen, it's a 2032 (same as a computer motherboard)......BUT.....it takes special software and smartcard link cable to set the time in the machine.
So far, I haven't been able to find out where I could get my hands on the setup to do it.

No data on smart card

Post by tbessett » Sun Aug 26, 2007 10:32 am

I am also getting NO DAIA on smart card when down loading it in Encore pro v 1.8. I have tryed the vairous suggestions provided here from this post.
I had made certain Encore was set not ot erase data and patient data was done first.

Out of these suggestions I'm suprised our doctors do not mention any of these good suggestions and I'm sure they do not care when and how we remove the smart card from our M series auto machines.

I think respironics needs to make these corrections first instead of seeing how many machines they can get into the public sector.

So after all that, I am still trying to fiqure out how to get data recorded onto the card and get it read by Encore. It shouldn't be this difficult!

I am a little afraid to try and read my smart card after most of this discussion. I have version 1.8 and tried to set it up like the instructions I found on this site. However, most of the instructions mention changing in Utilities to not erase the card. Version 1.8 does not have that in the utilites folder from what I can see and think that maybe version 1.8 will not erase unless you tell it to. Is this right? For those of you who have set up version 1.8 as your first version of software, could you give a brief description on how to set this program up? I think I will have to take my card in peiodically to my DME for insurance company compliance issues until they decide I am using it daily and purchase the machine for me. I would hate to erase the card by mistake and have to explain how that happened to my DME who believes IMO that we are not smart enough to use the software.

Yes, version 1.8 does not erase the smart card unless you select the menu for erasing smart card. I can't find the utilities folder too, I believe the instructions in the forum is old. I did try erase the card before, it works no problem. So far, it have no problem recording data, until last week one day (18 August) data went missing.

In 1.8 you need to go to Systems Settings Under Preferences and check the box next to Prompt to "Keep Compliance Data on SmartCard after Download" after a download.

You'll then be asked in a pop up if you want to keep the info on the card after you've downloaded your info.

Hope that helps
