Encore software still available says Respironics

I wrote them a letter telling them paitents want to use the Encore software but its not available anymore and asked them why.
This is the response I got:

"Thank you for your comments regarding the purchase of our Encore Pro Software. You may be able to obtain a copy from some online companies that sell our products. Please try cpapsupply.com or cpapusa.com, they may be able to assist you.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Customer Service at 800-345-6443 8am-8pm Monday-Friday EST.

Thank you,
Respironics, Inc.

I believe it's important that anyone interested contact them so that they experience the numbers of people who want to be able to read reports for themselves.

You may be able to obtain a copy from some online companies that sell our products. Please try cpapsupply.com or cpapusa.com, they may be able to assist you.
CPAPsupply.com does not exist. CPAPUSA.com's website lists Encore Pro but says "Product no longer carried."

I’m confused. I am currently shopping for new software comparable machine, so it will be no longer the case? It will be no machine + software combination available for general use?

Based on the glimmer of hope from the original message I called customer service.

It did not surprise me when they gave the standard answer..."we do not sell the software to end users".

The software is for Provider or Physician use only.

Well, if I had a current CD of the software, I would share. I only have the older version. If they won't sell it, then other methods have to be utilized. Don't tell me about legalities -- health issues are more important.

I am about to join the ranks of 'hoseheads' and will be buying equipment soon. From all the good info on this forum I think I will opt for Respironics but may decide of something else because of this Encore Pro availability issue. I was offered Encore Pro 1.8i yesterday......BUT! Who can afford $500?

Well I sent them an email as the software isn't listed for sale on their website, so I guess we'll see what they have to say.
